The next morning, I woke later than usual, and Blaise was stood beside my bed poking me with the end of his wand. I nearly punched him from instinct, but he learnt to step back from experience of trying to get me up before. "come on." He said pulling my sheets of me.

He looked my arm which was bare and said, "man you have a lot of tattoos." I pulled on a sweater and got up out of bed. "how often do you go gym bro, you got like more muscle than Crabbe." We laughed and I said, "that's what happens when you're forced to train all day."

I got a bunch more tattoos to hide the SPQR one, so nobody asks me about it. And because I didn't really like the look of it anyway. It was too roman for my liking.

I was walking down the corridor when a first-year girl handed me a scroll before blushing and running away squealing. I shook my head as everyone laughed and opened the scroll. I got Draco to read it for me. Apparently, I have detention at 5:00 with Lockhart.

This is going to be a long night.

I walked to my detention alone and my first thought, as I stepped into Lockhart's office was Narccissus. The guy had filled every inch of the walls with photo frames of himself. In the centre I found the real Lockhart sat behind a huge desk with even more pictures of himself. It took him a moment to notice me and when he did, he seemed very cheerful, not at all like he was giving me detention.

"yes, hello Nico, heard you had a little fight in the forest eh? I could give you some tips if you like. I'm sure you've read my books on my adventures."

"yes. I read a couple. The werewolf one and er- something else." I said.

"yes, yes. But I should have you know, starting a fight in a forest for attention's not the best idea. I'm sure, with your family heritage, you'll do your own things and become nearly as famous as me. all in good time."

"my heritage?" I asked dangerously. "what do you know? Tell me!" I yelled, just as the door opened.

I thought somebody had heard me yelling and come to give me another detention. Or I at least expected Lockhart to give me another detention, but he just laughed heartily.

"Harry, Harry, do take a seat. You and your friend here will be helping me answer my fan mail." He said smiling happily, like he could think of no better way to serve detention.

"he's not my friend." Harry said gritting his teeth.

"oh dear, I suppose this is what started your little argument outside. Let me tell you something Harry, I understand that you want to be famous. I suppose I am partially to blame for that. I did give you your first taste in flourish and bolts that time."

I couldn't help but smirk when I saw Harry's flabbergasted face. He tried to speak but Lockhart cut over him, "don't worry, I hear a few people already know you, because of your encounters with he-who-must-not-be-named." For some reason he shot me a glance when he said this. "and in a while maybe you'll be famous like me. Probably not as famous though. Hard to compete with me, you need good looks to you know..." and he carried on like this for the next couple of hours, not staying quiet for more than 5 minutes.

I had completely zoned out blocking whatever the professor was saying and if Harry was wise, I think he had done too. I was sealing the envelope to Serena Digglaus, who was very interested in the way in which Lockhart had corned a cyclops in a telephone box.

I had written to tell her it was fake because a cyclops would be significantly larger than a telephone booth. Anyway, I heard a voice.

Rip... tear...kill. I want... blood.

I jolted up from my trance and said, "what was that?" at the same time Harry said, "who's that?"

Lockhart looked up and said, "I know. She awarded me the trophy 5 years in-"

"not that, the voice." Harry said, whilst I was searching the room for someone. No one could have come in through the door, unless it was a ghost. But I would have felt its presence.

"voice? Sorry, what voice?" Lockhart said.

"you can't hear that? It just-"

Rip... Kill... I smell blood.

"there it is again." Harry exclaimed.

"I think you're getting a bit drowsy, boys." Lockhart looked at the round clock behind him, "my goodness, look at the time, time sure does fly when you're having fun." He said, "off you go boys. back to the great hall. I'm sure you'll make it for pudding."

Pudding I thought, English people and their ridiculous words.

Me and Harry grabbed our bags and rushed out of the room, leaving an uneasy Lockhart looking fearfully at the ceiling.

"you heard it, right?" Harry said to me. I nodded and started walking up the staircase. "where are you going? The great hall is this way." He pointed down the stairs.

"you can go if you want to, but I'm going to find the voice." I said continuing to walk up the stairs. Harry looked at the stairs for a split-second and then ran after me.

Rip... I want your blood... filthy...

Harry ran at full speed in direction of the voice and skidded to a stop in a corridor that was flooded with water. I however saw walked cautiously in the opposite direction, seeing a shadow slinking past the door. I lunged at the door but when I got there, I found nothing. I hadn't expected it to be that easy.

Then I heard yelling in the corridor, and I ran towards it to find all the Slytherin's stood in front of Harry. And above Harry something was hanging from a lantern. My mind filled with dread when I realised it was a cat. Filch's cat.

Filch is going to have a heart attack. I hope I'm there to see it.

"enemies of the heir beware!" Draco was yelling from the front of the Slytherin crowd, "You'll be next Mudbloods." He added nastily looking over at Granger.

The teachers who had no doubt heard Draco yelling, burst through the doors and stared at Harry who was stood in front of everyone else, closest to the hanging cat. McGonagall looked at Harry and said, "come with me Potter." Harry stared at her, not moving.

"you've got to be kidding me. You think I did this? When there's a hall full of Slytherin's around too?" McGonagall neither denied nor confirmed it but led Harry away out of sight.

Draco saw me trying to hide in the shadows. But he didn't say anything, for which I was extremely thankful, until all the students and teachers had returned to their respective places, the cat being taking with them, along with a very dramatically upset caretaker.

"Nico, you can come out." Draco whispered. "everyone's gone." I stepped out of the shadows.

"then why are you still whispering." I asked amusement playing on my lips. He smiled and then remembered what had happened and the four of them dragged me to our dormitory forced me down on the bed and said, "did you do it? Did you open the chamber?" I stared at them.

"what chamber?" when I said that they all looked very disappointed, and Draco explained. "the chamber of secrets. Everyone knows about it."

I shook my head and indicated for him to continue, "the story goes that Slytherin- you know about the four founders of the school, right? Ok well a rift began to grow between Slytherin and the others. Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He didn't want to let muggle scum in. He disliked the idea of muggle parentage. The others however thought that all students should be allowed and Slytherin became angry and left the school. But before he left it is said that Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in the castle, of which the other founders new nothing. According to the legend Slytherin sealed the chamber so that none would be able to open it until his own true heir arrived here."

I looked at all of them, who were eyeing me expectantly as though I was going to say 'yeah I knew all that. I just made him explain it for no good reason'.

"and you guys think I opened it? That's crazy. I didn't even know it existed until you told me." they winked at me and left me sat, highly amused, on my bed.
