Nico POV
I stood over Ginny, who still hadn't woken. I could tell she wasn't dead, so I didn't worry too much. as Harry made his way over, ink mixing with his blood, I put a cold hand on Ginny's forehead, she jerked up as though someone had electrified her, and stared at me, before tackling me in a hug so I fell to the floor, her lying on top of me. I laughed, as I hugged her back, then sat upright, noticing Harry who was watching relieved, if not slightly confused.
Ginny's bemused eyes travelled from the huge form of the dead basilisk, over Harry, in his blood-soaked robes, then to the diary in his hand. She drew a great, shuddering gasp and tears began to pour down her face. "Harry- oh- Harry I tried to tell you at b-breakfast, but I c-couldn't say it in front of Percy, and you, N-Nico, I was going to tell you but you never parted f-from Draco and Blaise, and I couldn't say it in f-front of them either. it was me- but I swear I d-didn't mean to, R-Riddle he made me, he t-took me o-over- and- how did you kill that- that snake, and all the weird monsters- where's Riddle? T-the last thing I r-remember is him coming out of that diary."
"hey, Ginny it's okay, the monsters are back where they belong, Harry finished of the basalisk and riddle's gone." I said, putting an arm around her. She reminded me of Bianca a lot. Fierce and protective, but vulnerable at the best of the times. She was like my little sister, and I honestly felt like I could trust her, which didn't happen a lot. I left her with Harry as I walked to the entrance which had sealed itself again. I told it to open in parseltongue, and I heard Ginny at the end.
"I'm going to be expelled!" Ginny wept as Harry helped her awkwardly to her feet. "I've looked forward to coming to Hogwarts ever since B-Bill came and n-now I'll have to leave and - w-what'll Mum and Dad say?"
We made our way through the twisted tunnel, I was supporting a limping, shivering Ginny, as Harry walked ahead of us
After a few minutes' progress up the dark tunnel, a distant sound of slowly shifting rock reached my ears.
"Ron!" Harry yelled, speeding up. "Ginny's okay! We've got her!"
He heard Ron give a strangled cheer, and they turned the next bend to see his eager face staring through the sizable gap he had managed to make in the rock fall.
"Ginny!" Ron thrust an arm through the gap in the rock to pull her through first. "You're alive! I don't believe it! What happened?" me and Harry climbed through the hole with ease, and Ron looked at the two of us, "where'd you guys get swords from? And you have a dagger?"
"I've had mine sword since I was 10, and the dagger from the start of the year,"
"mine kind of just fell from the sky I guess, nearly knocking me out."
"what happened down there?" Ron asked eagerly.
"we'll tell you after." I said, with a side-wards glance at Ginny.
"but-" Ron began.
"later." Harry said with a not so discreet look at Ginny. "where's Lockhart?"
"back there," said Ron, still looking puzzled, but jerked his head backwards. "he's in a bad way. Come and see."
Lockhart was sat there humming placidly to himself.
"his memories gone," Ron explained, "the memory charm backfired, hasn't got a clue who he is. I told him to wait here. He's a danger to himself."
I felt a kind of pity towards him I guess, as I knew how that felt, but it was gone in an instant when I remembered he was aiming for us.
"have you guys' any idea how we're going to get back up this thing?" Harry asked, peering up the black pipe. I rolled my eyes.
"Ginny grab my hand, Harry you take Ginny's other hand, Lockhart-"
"he means you," Ron said sharply to Lockhart.
"take Harry's hand, and Ron go last, make sure Lockhart doesn't let go, because I'm not coming back down here to get him." we made a long line, and I held Ginny's hand gingerly, not liking to be touched, but if I had to hold one of them, Ginny was the best option. I sheathed my sword and dagger, and Harry shoved his in his belt and I stepped in the wall of shadows, with Lockhart screaming, "this is amazing. Just like magic."
We appeared in the Dumbledore's office, where Percy, Jason, Draco and Blaise were stood looking anxious.
"her guys," I said feebly, before passing out.
A/N: sorry guys ik it's kinda short
