Come on. Let's go. I want to see Lockhart." Was all I could hear when we made our way to his duelling club.

"yeah I want to see Lockhart lose all is fights." Blaise said, rolling his eyes. A couple of girls glared at us, but we moved past them and made it into the great hall, where all the tables were lined up at the side, and in the centre was a huge platform.

"ladies and gentlemen," Lockhart began, with flourish "can you all hear me? And more importantly can you all see me? Now, professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little duelling club, to train you all in case you ever need to defend yourselves as I myself have done on countless occasions- for full details, see my published works."
"let me introduce my assistant, professor Snape," Lockhart said, flashing a wide smile. "he tells me he knows a tiny little bit about duelling himself and has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration before you begin. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry- you'll still have your potions master when I'm through with him, never fear."

"I hope Snape finishes him off for us." I say to Draco and Blaise. Snape's upper lip was curling. I wondered why Lockhart was still smiling; if Snape had been looking at me like that, and I only had my wand to defend myself, I'd be running as fast as I could in the opposite direction.

Lockhart and Snape turned to face each other and bowed; at least, Lockhart did, with much twirling of his hands, whereas Snape jerked his head irritably. Then they raised their wands like swords in front of them.

"as you see, we are holding our wands in the accepted combative position," Lockhart told the silent crowd. "on three, we will cast our first spells. Neither of us will be aiming to kill, of course."

"I wouldn't bet on that." Draco muttered excitedly, watching Snape baring his teeth.

"one-two-three--"

Both of them swung their wands above their heads and pointed them at their opponent; Snape cried: "Expelliarmus." There was a dazzling flash of scarlet light and Lockhart was blasted off his feet. He flew backwards off the stage, smashed into the wall, and slid down it to sprawl on the floor.

Most of us Slytherin's cheered, and we heard a girl squeal, "do you think he's all right?"

"who cares." Me, Draco and Blaise said in unision.

Lockhart was getting unsteadily to his feet. His hat had fallen off and his wavy hair was standing on end.

"well there you have it!" he said, tottering back onto the platform. "that was a disarming charm- as you see, I've lost my wand- ah, thank you, Ms Brown- yes, an excellent idea to show them that professor, but if you don't mind me saying, it was pretty obvious what you were about to do, and if I had wanted to stop you, it would have been only to easy- however, I felt it would be instructive to let them see..."

Snape was looking murderous and perhaps Lockhart noticed because he said, "let's have a weapon combat demonstration. yes, let's see. Mr Di Angelo, perfect, I heard you know something about swords. Will you come up here and show us how it's done?" all the Slytherin cheered me on as I jumped up onto the stage, sword in my hand.

It was one of the most-easiest fights in history. It was over before it even started. He 'attacked', and I disarmed him lazily.

"well, you see, I'm a bit out of practise, so I called a couple of people to show you. Percy! Jason!" he called. I was shocked when I saw them enter at the end of the hall. they made their way up to the stage and took out their weapons.

"hey Nico. Long-time no see." Jason said, nodding at me. Percy was a little less restrained.
"Nico!" he practically yelled. "how come you didn't tell us were you went. We were so worried we thought the annoying queen up there had another plan." I pushed my way out of his bone crushing hug, and said, "good to see you too."
