BRANDON

She looked like a mess but still very cute.
________________________I had probably slept for two hours, but I just couldn't sleep after what had happened and sleep deprivation was something I was used to. I had gone in the morning to check on Vanessa. But Reagan told me that she couldn't sleep the whole night and had finally slept in the morning.
"Hi, I am the head detective of this case, Christian O'Brien." said a guy with silverish hair and a slim body, in a top overcoat.
"Hi I am Brandon; how can I help?"
"Yes, I know, is it okay if I question you now."
"Sure, I guess." I said uncertainly. "Please could you come to the interrogation room?".
I nod. He meant the old library."So, I have learnt from the victim's father that you have had a history with her. He thinks that you are somehow involved in this case. That's why I have to work on this theory the most. I hope that you are aware that he is a famous mayor." he said with a composure.
"History? You say it as if we were dating. My brother was dating her and he is dead. Well I don't care what the mayor thinks, as it is, I don't understand why he would say that, he loved our family. Work on whatever theory you want to but I have nothing to do with this case." I said calmly but I was furious.
"Okay so if you are innocent, why don't you start by telling me where were you the hour before the midnight?" he says standing up.
"I was completing a shift at the café. You can check the surveillance camera." I said unbothered.
"Unfortunately, the cameras of the whole west wing were down for that hour. How awfully close you were to the crime scene. Coincidence?" he says trying to pin this on me.
"Last six months all I did was interrogations, weird theories and all that the police came up was my brother's death was due to a crazy mobster. I had no enmity with Rose, we go way before high school. I had thought the CBI was someone who took care of the cases fairly. I come to escape all the drama and misery and it runs behind me here. So do your work and don't waste your time investigating me cause all you are going to get is dead ends." I say bellicose, getting up and slamming the door behind me.
Wow I had a lot of things inside me, I felt lighter and he deserved it. "Brandon, please wait, by any chance do you know Vanessa? This is her phone."He says running behind me with a phone in his hand.
"I'll give it to her." I say taking the phone from his hand.
Her phone's lock screen was the cover of the new Taylor Swift's new album 'Folklore.' I had no idea she was into music let alone Taylor swift. I had heard some of her songs but I wasn't into music really. I was more inclined toward dance. I was not VERY good at it, but it was a great activity.
After all this, it was still eight in the morning. I had gone back to my dorm, and talked to Kio but he wasn't really bothered of the whole situation. All he wanted was for college to start.
In the afternoon, around one, I went to meet Vanessa. She looked like a mess but still very cute. Her hair tied into a messy bun, she was wearing sweatpants and an oversized sweatshirt. I kind of felt bad as I had woken her up. I returned her the phone. Though the conversation with her was a little awkward it wasn't forced. It was easy to talk to her.
All I did that noon was serve coffee, clean tables and take orders. "ONE honey chocolate mocha with non-fat milk." Nicoletta said.
'You' I said under my breath. But she had ears like those of dogs.
"Yes, me cutie. Missed me?" she said sarcastically.
"You wish." I said.
"I know that you are lovesick." she said. "On you. Sure." I said making her drink. "No dummy, that girl Vanessy I suppose." she said making a face."Her name is Vanessa, and we met just yesterday." I said clearly lying.
"You just proved it. Speak of the devil." she says looking at door. Vanessawas here.
"Oh, you simp, stop blushing." she told me.
"I am not. I am done with this convo. Enjoy your drink." I told her handing her the drink.Do I really blush when I am around her? Gosh. I keep a straight face as I go to Vanessa's table. I ask her and Reagan to order. She hits me in the shoulder as she got up and went to the counter. She ordered, and I think she was flirting, so I did that back. But was she really? Oh my god I hope I did not make a fool of myself. What the hell is going on with me? Am I going crazy? STOP! I need some serious help.
Late that evening, when I was cleaning up, my co-worker finally decided to show up. It was a girl named Sophia Adams. She was talking to our boss. I finally didn't have to do the extra shifts. She was starting from tomorrow.
