"Yes and now that you mention it I actually think that it is connected." I said nodding my head.

"Well, are we going to tell the detective or not?" Vanessa asked.
"Why do we have to tell that sneaky sir?" Sophia said and Vanessa made a perplexed face.
"What do you mean? He is doing his job, that's it." She said defending him. I felt like someone just punched right to my heart.
"Why are you defending him?" I ask not realizing what I had just said. I didn't mean to do it. But It was like something inside me blurted it out.
"Fine, if you guys don't want to tell him then don't." Vanessa said leaning back into her chair. I wanted to apologize but what could I say, I would look more like an idiot than I already did.
"Vanessa, you told us that you would tell the detective something about the case. What was it?" Kio asked breaking the tension.
"I just said some nonsense. That this case had something to do with her past. We didn't have some hardcore information other than that." Vanessa answered without looking up.
"What if it did?" Ryder asked.
"I don't think so or why would they wait till she came to the college." Reagan said making a point.
"Maybe so that people don't think it was related to her past." Vanessa said.
"You guys make good points. But I knew Rose, she had absolutely no enmity, loved her family, no jealous ex-boyfriends and stuff." I said.
"Yeah you are correct." Vanessa said looking up for the first time. All of them looked convinced other than her.
Next day, it was a pleasant day as the first breeze of autumn had started to hit. Leaves were turning into orange, the days were passing faster than usual. It had been three weeks since Rose's death.
It was almost time for our yearly internships. Two weeks to go. In morning, Vanessa came running towards Kio and me as Reagan followed her. Vanessa ran faster than I expected her too.
"I-I think I found something (deep breath). Reagan and I think that this has something to do with your brother's death." She said almost breathless.
"Oookay I guess, but I don't understand why you say that. I mean My brother's death was a spontaneous one not planned or something and Rose's was definitely planned." I said not believing what she was saying.
"See now all makes sense, your brother's killer not being found. Rose being killed just six months after your brother's death. The killer waiting for her to come here so that they couldn't find a link between Bryce's and her murder. Think about it." She said putting me into deep thoughts.
My mind raced back to Bryce's murder, Vanessa was correct, the driver was too prepared for a spontaneous murder. Bryce hadn't even said a thing to him before he killed him. This was no criminal gone crazy, it was definitely planned. But why didn't it occur to me before. The police said that it was not planned and I believed it, without even protesting against him.
"Mister!? You still there." Vanessa asked me.
"Yes and now that you mention it I actually think that it is connected." I said nodding my head.
"But where did you get this idea from?" Kio said.
"Well, I was not convinced yesterday when you guys said that it had nothing to do with her past. After going back to dorm, I couldn't really do anything else. My brain was storming. This morning I saw a painting I had made a few days ago. In that there was a skeleton with Rose's in its eyes. Then it hit it to me that Bryce too was killed some time ago. Fast forward to here." She said smiling and stood on her tiptoes and back down.
"Wow! You have brains." Reagan said.
"But now the thing is we don't know something from her past that would get both of them killed. Nor can we talk to anyone that knew her." I said.
"We can if we go to her hometown." Reagan said.
"You mean mine too and Dallas, not going back to that place. That's for sure." I said folding my hands.
"Even if you wanted to go there, how could we, don't we have college." Vanessa asks.
"True that." Kio said.
"But what if we go through our internships. Ryder and I are already going to Dallas for the internships." Reagan said.
"But I am going to Greenville. My hometown." Vanessa said.
"And I am going to Utah." I said.
"Wow that's near. I am going to LA and I for one can't change my location two weeks before the internship. And I really want to go." Kio said.
