VANESSA
I don't know why but I felt she was being truthful.
"Gabi, even if you are not guilty, how can we help? It's not like we can find the killer." I told her.
"Actually, that's exactly what I want you guys to do." she said squinting her eyes.
"Yeah sure, I have been doing this since birth, I would love to help. I mean the CBI is for absolutely no reason, is it?" I say sarcastically and maybe a little rudely.
"I can't ask for their help now! It's too late. Please help me guys, and do you really think the detectives will investigate any further if I turn in. The actual killer is still walking."
"Please Gabi, don't pull us into this, I really think you should turn yourself in." Reagan said almost pleading.
"Gabi, I agree; I mean we know nothing about this case, how will we even help. I find it funny that you asking for OUR help in the first place." I agreed.
"Please at least think about Rose, she deserves justice, and I know you guys can or I wouldn't have asked for your help."
"Hi Vanessa and Reagan" said a girl standing behind me.
"Hi Sophia and Brandon, what are guys doing here?" I said loudly so that Gabi noticed.
"Wait is that you Gabi, oh my god, you after everything, come now." Sophia said really loud.
Brandon stood behind dumbstruck, he probably was just as shocked as we were.
"Please hear me out at least Sophia, and please talk a little slowly." said Gabi with tears in her eyes.
We explained them both what had happened.
Brandon finally spoke, "I think we should at least try to help her, and I am pretty sure Rose was not killed by Gabi, because whoever had done that did a lot of planning, we don't even know who are our roommates until we have met them. And I want to help Rose. What do you guys say?"
"Okay Gabi, I will help you find killer. You both?" I say looking at Reagan and Sophia.
They both agreed.
"You guys are hanging out, and didn't even call us? That's so inconsiderate of you guys. And who is the newbie?" said Kio catching us off-guard.
"Wait, isn't that the girl who had ran away?" said Ryder.
"Shut up both of you and listen up and yeah she is the one, and can't all of you come at once, and Gabi we will tell them but I think you should go now." I said hastily.
"You are right, and I am trusting you guys. Please stand on your word."
After Gabi left, we spelled out the situation to them. Kio was willing rather excited for helping but Ryder was resistant, but Reagan convinced him. Such an understanding couple.
After that we went to the café, I mean we had some brain storming to do like how to lie to the detectives, how to get information, how to communicate with Gabi and how could we all be at one place together. We had involved more people than needed. But I hoped that we can get over with this as soon as possible.
"Shall we begin? We jot down some things we already know about the murder." I say to break the awkward silence.
"On it!" said Sophia removing her phone.
"The time was between 11:45 to 12:15; the door was open, so the killer probably entered from. Stabbed with a knife, which has gone for a forensic report. Umm, whoever did this took time and had some personal beef with her. That hour the CCTV surveillance was down." said Brandon almost covering all the things and Sophia typed so fast that she completed before Brandon could even said the whole thing.
"Whoever had done this had practiced as we couldn't even hear one scream when all this happened." said Reagan.
"Or Rose knew that person." said Ryder.
"That is a possibility but when he or she knocked down Gabi wouldn't have Rose suspected that?" I said adding on.
"How many people do you think were present there?" asked Kio.
"I don't think so more than two, as the rooms are not that big and Gabi would have noticed at minimum one of the men." I said.
"Or women. Brandon told that the door was open, so whoever entered must have to swipe the card otherwise someone must have done it for them or they belong here. I can check who all had swiped their cards at that time." said Sophia.
"But the CCTV surveillance was down." said Ryder
"Surveillance was down not electricity. After all the swiping machine also had data punched in it."
"And you can hack into it?" I ask.
"Sure, why not but only through my laptop." said Sophia.
We decided to meet tomorrow and declared our days.
