Chapter 5 ||Best friends help a lot ||

   Ashton P.O.V

"I should call her, but what if she doesn't want to talk? What if she's afraid that I know of her scars? Better yet what should I do?" These questions raced through my head and I wondered why they didn't get tired. I wanted to know if Cass was ok but I didn't want her to think I'm obsessed. I called Luke and he said "she's fine, don't worry Ashton. I'm going to hang out with her tomorrow so you don't have to worry. She's strong too."

Luke was right, he's known her longer so I guess I don't have to worry that much. I did however ask each of them if she was ok.

Cass P.O.V

"C'mon guys!" I yelled for Michael and Calum to get in the car. I parked my car at the driveway to our house. Calum went home and Michael and I went inside. My mom had left another note saying:

"Cassandra I went to work I'm coming back at around 9:00. Sorry I fell asleep the entire day last night. Feel free to order pizza.
Love, mom."

Michael sat on the couch calling a pizza place. "Yes can I have a medium sized pizza, half pepperoni and jalapeño, half pepperoni" I heard him order the pizza. "Ok thanks" He said, hung up and told me "they'll be here in around 20 minutes." I smiled and turned on the tv.

Kick ass was staring so we decided to watch that. The pizza came so we ate and watched the movie. "Cass, didn't you have a black eye?" Michael asked will pointing to his eye. "I covered it with makeup." I said. I laughed and then he laughed. The movie was really funny and I was feeling better. It was about to be 8:30 when he decided to leave. "Ok bye see you tomorrow" I said dropping him off at his place.

I got a phone call from Ashton:
"Hey are you ok?" He asked me
"Yeah I'm fine, I just had pizza with Mikey." I said reassuring him.

"Ok, I heard Luke is going to your house tomorrow." He said.
"Yeah, the guys are trying to make me feel better, so far it's working" I said sounding really happy.
"Ok good, I got to go but I'll see you later bye"
"Bye"

The call ended and I smiled. When I drove home it was 9:00 pm. My mom always comes a little late but that's ok. I went upstairs and went to sleep.

The next morning I did my normal routine. Took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast and off to school. Calum is always there waiting for the ride, what and where does this dude eat? School went great until I got called into the office.

"Ms. Bennett, you are leaving school early. Someone is here to pick you up." The principal said.

I had a baffled look on my face. I asked "Who is here to pick me up?"

"Me" I turn around only to see a man wearing a suit and tie. He looks around my mom's age and has black hair. The crazy part is that I've never seen this man before.

"I'm sorry but I don't know this man." I tell my principal.

"Cassandra, I'm your father" the man says. I freeze. I've always wanted to hear those words but now that they're here, I'm scared. "Can I call my mom?" I ask.

The principal explained to me that "my father" called my mom to inform her he was coming. I don't understand. After 16 years you finally decide to come back?

I'm in "my father's" car and he's driving me to our house. Surprisingly my mom is at home and not at her job. "Aren't you supposed to be at work?" I ask. "I told them he was coming." My mom said.

I quickly call Calum. I tell him everything, the principal, that man , my mom. He told me to calm down but I'm scared. What if he isn't my dad?
