Calum P.O.V
After Cass' mom died, me and her have been in the down mood.
My friends say I'm talking less and smiling less. Cass has always been strong but in this situation she looks completely different. I'm talking about her looks.
Since she doesn't wear makeup, her eyes look tired from probably crying. I've been crying too.
After the funeral I stayed at Cass' home. The next day it was all mixed up but I ended up going to school at 11:00 am. When I got back, my mom saw how depressed I looked. I went to my room. I laid on my bed and suddenly I start crying. My tears flowing down my face hoping that my sister doesn't see me like this. She does see me and comforts me.
Cass has a huge effect on people. In our little group she is known to always make you happy. If you're sad the obvious answer is to go to Cass. Now that she's the sad one, everyone is just confused. Her happiness is low, and our little group has been quiet because of the happiest person being sad.
I text her a couple of times and she gets me. She even gave me advice on feeling better.
Why? Why would she help me instead of herself right now?
I know the answer. I've known her for 15 years! We know each other, we're practically related.
Last year she told be about Erik and how he's treating her. Around the same time my sister was in the hospital. "Don't worry Calum. They're professional doctors, it's their profession!" She said pretty loud.
I smiled and said "You're right." With that I'm guessing she felt better at her Erik problem. I felt better.
One thing you will definitely learn from Cass is that no matter how broken down she is, no matter what the case is she will help you first.

I texted Calum a couple of times and he stated that he needed help. I obviously helped, he smiled back at me which made me smile. That smile wasn't fake.
To me, helping someone is the best feeling in the world. Why? Because you know you've made someone feel better, more relieved. How can you not smile at that?

I get a text from Calum:
Calum: I heard you asked out Cass.
Me: Yeah, where did you hear that?
Calum: She's my best friend, she tells me everything.
Me: Oh, she said yes
Calum: I know. But listen I need to talk to you. Can you come to my house?
Me: Sure.I get there and he's sitting on his front door steps. "What do you need to talk about?" I ask sitting down on the concrete steps.
"It's about Cass. She's broken down right now and it made her happy when you asked her out."
"Is that bad?"
"No. I'm just saying that if you hurt her, I don't want you talking to her again. I know I'm younger and I can't punch you without you killing me but I've known her for ever. I don't want her getting more hurt, especially right now." He looks at me with concerned eyes.
"I wouldn't hurt her. I already know the pain she goes through so only a dick would have the nerve to do that."
We talk about the band stuff and we laugh. Cass has a window in her room. She saw us through there so she came outside.
"Hey Calum, hi Ashton." She says smiling and sitting down in between us.
We talk all day. She makes some cheesy jokes that were really funny. It gets late and we all go back to out houses.
