I stayed at home one more day before returning to school. When I woke up the next day for school I rushed to my mom's room to see if she was there. I quickly remembered my mom died. Fuck. Tears started forming in my eyes. The thought of my mom being gone made my heart shattered. I cried for a couple of seconds.Realizing I had school, I hopped in the shower. I put on high waisted shorts, a maroon shirt and grey converse. I only brushed my hair and threw on a black beanie. Beanies always make me feel better somehow.
When I went outside, Calum wasn't there waiting in his usual spot. I shrugged it off and headed to hell. I mean school.
I parked my car and sighed as I saw everyone talking and laughing. Today was pretty sunny which is the main reason why I chose shorts. The whole school was happy.
Mascara was tricky, I decided not to wear it because I knew I would cry at some point. I hopped Erik wouldn't come to say straight up shit to my face.
I closed the car door and started making my way to my friends when a familiar voice jacked up my mood. "Aww poor Cassandra. All lonely. You know I bet your mom would've been happy that dude ended her suffering." It was Erik. He screamed this standing on top of a car hood. In anger I turn around and walk towards him.
"Fuck off Erik! You have no clue how it feels to watch someone you love die in front of your eyes. Having you screw up my feelings is bullshit!! I'm not a fucking machine!! Leave me alone! Okay?! Just stop! My life has completely changed and I don't need to hear your shit!" I teared up halfway but with my watery eyes continued.
"Don't come back telling me sorry. Nothing, and I mean nothing will ever make me forgive you! My mom's death hit me so hard....and you have the nerve to insult me?!" I finish completely satisfied with what I said.
For the first time he was speechless.
"I - I'm sorry" He managed to say.
"Sorry won't fix this!" I pull up my shorts a little more to reveal my scars. Everyone that had gathered around gasped. His friends mouths dropped down to the floor in shock. "Oh shut it." I say confidently as I walk to math class.
"Hey I heard you confronted Erik, how do you feel now?" Calum asked as I sat down on my chair.
"It felt amazing to get that off my chest!" I say as I take out the homework. Calum fist pumped me and then class started.
At lunch everyone stared at me. I knew it was because of what I said in the morning but in this school things happen and then they quickly move on.
A random voice screamed "Thank you for standing up to that douche!" He started clapping and suddenly the entire cafeteria claps. I smile ear to ear and when the applause ends I scream "No problem! It was getting on my nerve!" The person smiles and continues eating.
