Sitting at the kitchen barstool, you see out the window Bryce chasing Addison around the pool. Her laughter is contagious and you've never seen either of them laugh so much as since they got back together.
They hadn't announced she was moving in, but Bryce had given you the heads up weeks ago that he was going to ask her. It was obvious by the kiss they were sharing just on the other side of the glass from you, that she'd said yes. You were happy for them, you really were, but you missed your best friend. Above all the other mess between you and Bryce, he had once upon a time been your absolute rock.

Bryce and Addison spill into the kitchen laughing when they notice you sitting there. Addison smiles gently at you, worried she may have upset you. She had noticed how sad you'd been lately and didn't want to make it worse. Bryce had dug through the cabinet and was now sitting in front of you and Addison with a plate of cookies.
Bryce: *pointing at you* "Better watch this one, she is a cookie thief"
You both laugh while Addison smiles knowing it's an inside joke she is missing.
Y/N: *still laughing* "I haven't been responsible for a single cookie theft in months thank you very much"
Bryce: *tossing a crumb at you* "Yeah because I moved them to a shelf you can't reach"
Addison: *noticing you two have some catching up to do* "I have a photo shoot today, that I can't be late for, so you should take Y/N"
Bryce: *pulling her aside* "You sure?"
Addison: *kissing him again* "Totally! I really think she is having a hard time and you are her best friend"

Over lunch you catch up on your lives leaving Jaden and Addison out of the conversation at first. You both are trying not to hurt the other. You fill him in on the drama that went down a few months ago with your parents and he is shocked.
Bryce: "I had no idea you'd even spoken to them, but that explains why you haven't since, crazy"
Y/N: "It just sucks because like they were all I had for 19 years so even tho it was toxic it was just hard to lose family"
Bryce: "We are your family too ya know... I know a lot has changed lately, but I'm going to be around a lot more and so is Addison... she's moving in"
You're a little shocked even though you saw it coming, but honestly so excited! The house is big enough for three couples to share and it really helps keep you from feeling so lonely that you get in the way of Jaden chasing his dreams.
Bryce starts to bring up Jaden and you, and you are saved from awkwardly answering by a young teenager asking if she can take a picture with you guys. You start to move out of the way assuming they want a picture with Bryce because he gets that a lot. The girl shocks you by asking you to be in the picture too because she follows you on Instagram.
On the car ride home you are scrolling through your feed while Bryce drives, and notice the picture of you and Bryce is all over the Tik Tok Tea pages. Over 100,000 comments that are all asking the same thing:

Y/N: *squealing* "Oh. My. God!!!!"
Bryce *swerves almost hitting another car* "What? What's wrong?"

You stop by Addison's first to pick her up and are scared to tell her about the post but to your surprise she gets in already having seen it
Addison: *smiling and laughing* "So if it isn't the new it couple"
Bryce: "Don't even start"
Addison: *still obviously joking with you guys* "Look how cute you guys are! Like, Addison and Jaden who?"
Y/N: *taking a deep sigh* "God I didn't even think about Jaden!!! He's going to freak out. Oh my God"
As soon as you pull up, you hop out of the car and rush inside leaving Bryce and Addison behind. Addison wasn't worried at all, but she's so confident. Jaden's mind works differently and he could spin this into overdrive with his insecurities. You stop in your tracks when you come face to face with him as you walk into the bedroom.
