it was 9 o'clock and the boys were not sleepy... what would you expect at a giant 1 week long sleepover at a cool house? so they decided to go on a walk to the beach. it wasn't too far away, maybe a couple of metres.

they made their way down the driveway of the holiday house, and made towards the beach. woojin in the front, chan at the back and everyone else in the middle. it made chan feel safe, knowing that all his friends that he cared so deeply about, were all in front of him- all happy, laughing... you know the drill. at least they were happy, even if chan wasn't.

"chan hurry up mate"

that's when he realised that he had blanked out and stopped in the middle of the road.

"yup comingg!"

he knew that hyunjin didn't like him the same way that he did, but as long as hyunjin was happy- he'd be happy. chan was sure that he misunderstood his feelings, he was still young and had no idea what he wanted. so he thought that telling hyunjin would be the best way.

"hyunjin!" he shouted, "can i talk to you please?!"

"sure"

chan brought hyunjin away from the others who were currently picking woojin up and trying to throw him in the water.

"what's up hyung"

"hyunjin..." he started, " before i say anything, i want you to know that i won't get in the way of your relationships, but just thought that you should know this. i tried so hard to push this thought away, but it doesn't go away. i understand if you don't want to be friends after this, but please... i beg you- don't leave me, i'll do anything to keep you by my side"

chan burt into tears, in the fear of losing his best friend.

"chan, i think i know where this is going, but just tell me- i'm not going to leave you, you mean too much to me"

"i t-think i like y-you"

hyunjin engulfed chan in a hug, rubbing the elders back

"chan listen, i don't mind you liking me ok? this won't affect our relationship as friends yeah?"

"yeah" he whispered, looking away

"look at me chan" hyunjin placed his hand on chan's chin and moved it so that he was facing the taller male, "someone will love you... ok? but someone isn't me"

it hurt. a lot. but he knew that hyunjin was right. there is someone for everyone, and they will come when the time is right. it may take 5 months or 5 years. but what matters is that they will find someone at some point in their life. and in the end, it'll all make sense and be worth it.

"chan i love you ok? i'm never going to leave you, if you promise not to leave me" hyunjin put his pinkie out in front of the older, causing the other to wrap his own pinkie around the other's.

"i'm so sorry hyunjin"

"no- chan... i'm sorry"
