I woke up screaming. My heartbeat was still racing after the nightmare I had. My throat was dry and my voice was hoarse. Both from me bloody screaming in my nightmare and from crying myself to sleep last night.
I checked my phone and got a text saying that my contact saw Kol in his city. That confirmed my suspicion was correct about Kol's whereabout.
I showered, got ready and head to the kitchen for breakfast.
It was a quite breakfast. No one knew what to say. We were all grieving. We were all mourning. We were just lost in our own thoughts. I broke the silence.
"I know where Kol is. I'm going to pick him up. We can meet at the airport if you have unfinish errands to do here." I said.
Elijah nodded and walked away leaving us alone. And soon Bekah also left.
I sighed picked up the plates after them and cleaned them up, cleaned the table and what-not. I followed after Bekah to see her in a room full of paintings.
I looked around in awe. The paintings were really remarkable. It was so detailed and had the right colouring and shade in each of them. It seemed that each painting had its own story behind it. Whoever painted this really had a talent.
"It's all Nik's." I heard Bekah said.
I almost choked on my saliva. I swallowed a lump in my throat as I hold the tears from beginning to resurface.
"He cared about you, you know. He loved you."
Yesterday's feeling of my chest tighten like an invisible grip and the aching of my heart began to resurface. I swallowed an even bigger lump yet a lone tear slide down my cheeks.
"I-I like him, too." I stammered.
Bekah turned around and faced me. "I know."
She walked up to me and handed me pictures Nik had drawn. She looked at it one by one and began to choke up. Pictures of me. Rebekah threw the rest of the picture down and knocked the rest of them off the table in a fit of rage. But my eye caught a painting behind the table in particular.
A beautiful woman radiated strength and fierceness yet held so much grace. Riding on her horse in her warrior suit raising her sword as if she was commanding her army to attack. On top of her head rested a gorgeous crown showing the power she held. The woman was me.
I was surprised beyond belief. My mouth opened agape in shocked. My eyes widened in awestruck. I couldn't tear my eyes off the painting in front of me that I unconsciously walked over.
"That's how he saw of you." Bekah said.
I turned around to face her. "I – I Wow." I was loss of words.
Just then I felt another presence in the room. Damon entered the room behind Bekah.
"You should know better than to sneak up on a lady." Bekah said.
