Dedicated Chapter 30:

Still at summer opening, fifteen minutes later

-HANJI-

As much as I wanted to join the trio, it's better to let them to spend the last day of summer opening together. I don't want to be a nuisance. So, I just stayed with my friends.

After watching through the end of the open mic, it was almost dark. We're hungry now and started off for the food strip. On the way, I caught glimpse of Oluo and went over to him to say that I'll drop by with my friends later. I also asked if the trio is with them.

"Petra had them rested there. But I don't know if they're still there. I've been on errand for around half an hour now. Want me to ask?" He fished for his phone.

"No! It's fine. I'll just see you guys later- maybe 7:30? See you later!"

"See you!" He waved back!

I hurried over to my friends before they notice my sudden disappearance. A little more walking and we finally reached the food strip. We girls secured tables for us while the guys bought food.

"Gosh, Hanji! You're future boyfriend looks badass back there. Don't you want to perform a duet with him?" Nanaba who's on my left, nudged playfully.

"Ahck!" I coughed at my slightly alcoholic drink.

"I never knew that you got a much more advanced mind, Nanaba." I talked back.

On my right, Erwin chuckled lighheartedly. I glared at him but he just responded by tapping my back as I cough a little more.

"Too bad, Hannes is not here to see you like that." Ian said.

"Oh, why Ian? Clawing on me?! Just say you want to be a family man soon like Hannes. Though of course, wedding comes first, babies come later. And oh, but Rico's not in a hurry for kids until your first wedding anniversary!" I said, sticking out my tongue.

They laughed along with me. Then Rico stood up from her seat and put us all attention to her.

"Ush-shush-shush! I might change my mind. Six months!"

We applauded at her announcement. Ian was in ecstacy and pecked a kiss on Rico. The blushing girl turned smugly at Nanaba and Mike.

"How about you guys?"

Nanaba pouted and rolled her eyes. Then she slapped Mike's arm. It made Mike utter a surprised grunt.

"Hey! Answer Rico!"

"Dear lemon, I will propose too. No need to worry. We'll be like them."

"You better! No taking back!" Mike nodded.

Mike pulled Nanaba in an embrace. I turned to Rico and Ian just to see that they're embracing each other too. I stood up from my seat.

"Erwin! Moblit! Want to find a table for singles?" I said jokingly.

"Yeah. We better do that." Moblit answered with a chuckle.

I sat down again, taking a good look at all the food on our table. Burgers, fries, barbeque, burritos, frappes, doughnuts, pies, and alcoholic drinks. A really great feast. We ate in satisfaction while bickering about whatnot and having a good time.

Amidst munching my munchkin, my phone vibrated. Fishing my phone with my free hand, I turned it on. I stared in surprise at what I saw. A message from Levi.

"Are you still around?"

I read over three times and stayed still for I don't know how long. Then I was startled by Erwin's voice close to me.
