The movie was just about finished when of course the voices had to come back.

Jesus watching a child's movie now?

I clenched my jaw and looked at the floor to see a now sleeping Lance.

Do you even see the way you look at the new boy?

Tch, gross.

I flinched again.

Want to know why Bailey left?

That made me jump up, Boone gave me a confused look. I walked briskly to the bathroom locking the door behind me.

"Why'd Bailey leave!? Did I do something?" I whispered.

Isn't it obvious?

"If it was then why would I be asking?" I hissed.

How dull can one be? He was so obviously in love with you it was painfull to watch.

My breath hitched, "your lying! I've known him since I was four!"

Once you turned fourteen his feelings started to form. And he got scared, so he figured better to leave with no goodbye. Then to leave with an even heavier heart.

My eyes watered, "Now you start to get all poetic on me?"

Tch

I opened the bathroom door basicly sprinting up the stairs. I skidded into my room collapsing to the floor. I crossed my legs my head bowed down.

My jaw was clenched tightly in confrontation.

"Bailey." I started.

"I know why you left now. I won't make fun of you. Just please come back." I said trying to keep my voice even.

"I can't do this alone. Your the only one who can even remotely help me." I said my voice dropping to a whisper.

"I miss you..if you weren't..the way you were. I could've loved you back the way you want me to." I murmered.

Really?

My eyes snapped open.

I almost sobbed with relief, I don't think I had ever been happier to see the boy.

"Jesus Bailey! Why'd you wait this long to come back!?" I yelled jumping to my feet.

I tackled him in a short lived hug.

I could only conecntrate hard enough to be able to hug him for a choice few moments.

I'm sorry.

"It's fine.." I sighed.

There was a momemt of silence.

"I'm oblivious aren't I." I chuckled.

Oblivious is an understatement.

I smirked, "I'm not exactly a people person."

Oh really? I didn't notice.

"Shut up." I said with a giggle that only Bailey had the pleasure of hearing.

He grinned, "so hows the new kid."

I felt my cheeks get slightly rosy, me and Boone had chatted a little bit during the movie. He actually wasn't all that bad.

I shrugged, "He's alright. Hasn't caused me any trouble."

Bailey nodded thoughtfully.

"Boys! And girl!"  Milah yelled "Come get some lunch!"

"Im not!-" I started.

"And do not say your not hungry Rogue! I know you didn't eat breakfast!"

I groaned opening my door.

Stop complaining, you need to eat.

I rolled my eyes walking down the stairs as slow as possible. When I finally got to the kitchen there was already a sandwich waiting for me on the counter.

"Who?" I asked gesturing to the sandwich.

"I did. Hope you don't mind peanut butter and fluff."

I turned to see Boone holding his own sandwich with a small smile.

I shrugged my insides doing flips. Why did it feel like my heart was about to explode?

It felt weird.

Experiencing this much emotion.

From a smiling boy and a sandwich.

"Thanks."

He nodded taking a seat at the bar. I picked up my sandwich taking a bite.

I glanced over at his and raised an eyebrow, "Is your sandwich..cooked?"

He nodded sheepishly, "Fried peanut butter and fluffs are the best."

I shrugged again.

Wow. At least give the kid a smile or something.

"Shut up. You know I'm not good at being nice."

Boone looked up at me confused.

"Not you, sorry." I apologized, I forgot he's not used to me randomly arguing with ghosts.

"Oh. Is Bailey back?" He asked curiously.

"Yeah actually."

He grinned again, "good!"

The only person in this house that I had seen smile half as much, was Lance.

Not that I didn't like his smile.

He just seemed so happy.

It had taken the rest of us weeks, months even to get used to each other.

Maybe he had gotten lucky and scored a few halfway decent foster homes.

I hope so.

Kids like us are just a check to those people.

Yeah he smiles alot, but he's got sad eyes. Havn't you noticed?

"No, and get out of my head."

Bailey shrugged and nodddd his head towards Boone. He looked zoned out staring down at the table.

As he looked up at me I felt my heart clench.

How could I not have noticed his big green sad eyes. But his smile just looked so real.

Nobody would have guessed it was fake.

Unlike Jacob, Boone didn't have a coping mechanism. He just simply suffers through the smile.

He met my eyes almsot instantly averting them.

Huh?

Oh..did he not like my eyes?

I always knew they were weird.

I rushed out of the kithcen now extremly self conscious.

"Bailey where are my contacts?"

Don't wear contacts. I like your eyes.

"Where are my contacts." I repeated.

He sighed, aren't they on your dresser?

I ran up the stairs turning into my room. My eyes scanned the dresser quickly.

I sighed in relief grabbing my case of green contacts. I carefully picked one up walking to my mirror.

I put the contact on over my hideous purple eye.

You jump to conclusions to fast, maybe he just doesn't like eye contact.

I scowled, "doesn't matter my eyes are weird no matter what."

Bailey sighed looking at me in disbelief.
