Fire.
Death.
Hatred.
TERROR.
The huge, corrupted Black Aspect had spread its wings over Azeroth, and everything burned.
Desperation.
Hopelessness.
All seemed lost.
Inikus screams when the powerful, ancient dragon crushes her husband under his claws, desperation freezing her in place for a moment.
But she can't stop. No. She can mourn later.
Her small dragon whelp is crying near her now, shocked as well by his father's horrible death even if he's too young to fully comprehend the dire situation: he is the reason of her husband's sacrifice.
She can't let this go to waste... She looks at her child fondly, and the strength returns to her.
They love their little precious son, he is their life's sun already. So her husband made the ultimate sacrifice to allow her to flee with him.
She swallows the tears and quickly picks the shaking, frightened little dragon whelp in her jaws, letting him lay on her tongue. That will be the ultimate protection for him: the last place you would go looking for an easy meal are the sharp jaws of an angry mother dragon.
Then, she starts dreamwalking.
She hasn't thought about this thoroughly, but she has to look for a place with no magic, if she wants at least a chance for them to survive the black Aspect's blind, mad rage. No matter the cost.
She scans the dream horizon, then she sees it.
This is PERFECT.
She opens her wings, and with a powerful blow, she's gone through the portal she swiftly opened, the Aspect blinded by her husband unable to see what's happening.
Settling here will be relatively easy, but she has to merge with this world. So, she takes her full human form as soon as she walks through the portal in the peaceful forest, her child still looking as a small dragon dropping in her arms when the jaws disappear.
He won't be able to control his transformation for the time being. Dragon children tend to transform subconsciously in their winged form whenever they feel threatened or they just want to play, so she will have to make him take his human form and then lock his memory to avoid the transformation.
She frowns. She assumes there is no going back, and she wants her son to have an happy life, even if it means forgetting about being a dragon. Forgetting his father. Forgetting about magic.
Therefore, she puts him to sleep, thus allowing her to make him transform into a human baby, and casts the memory locking spell.
She smiles, finally able to cry for her husband, as a new dawn encircles her now small figure gently, a city in the distance.
She looks at the city with teary eyes and a heavy heart. But she feels relieved.
They can go and live there. They can start a new life now.
-----------------------------
A strange forest, so luscious it's impossible to fully describe...
"I have found you, young dragon...I will come to help you, if I can...just keep dreamwalking, to let me follow your trace... "
"Another of those dreams..." Izuku wakes up, panting, fixating the ceiling of his dorm room, not noticing the green mist that lurks just over the room floor, "but this was...different? I never dreamt of forests before...I feel like I know the place, though...And someone was calling me? Ugh, I can't remember properly...".
A strange dizziness takes hold of his head, "I should go back to sleep. Tomorrow...I'll deal with this tomorrow...", and like that, he's sleeping again already.
The day after, however, will change his perspective on himself altogether.
