"Do you know what magic is?" She starts speaking, the tone like that of a teacher to their students.
"Well yes. But it's just a product of our imagination. It's not real", Aizawa answers promptly, wondering where she is getting at.
She looks unimpressed by his words and explains further.
"In the world I come from, called Azeroth, magic actually exists. A lot of it.
We night elves get our magic from the moonwells, given to us by the Moon Goddess Elune, our founder.
Our magic is ancient and powerful, so much that it also gave us a very long lifespan, on the contrary of the magic used by humans, trolls, taurens and the other people of Azeroth.
They need to study for years to be able to master the energy, called mana, that can be used to cast the spells. We use the same energy, although more freely and easily thanks to the moonwells.
But even our magic has its limits, and I hope to find something similar to a moonwell if I have to stay here for long or to fight.
The most powerful magic on Azeroth, though, is that of the dragons.
Their magic is one with the forces of nature, since their founders, the Aspects, were created by the ancient Titans, creators of worlds, to protect the balance of our world itself, and it has little to no limits of mana. They are almost immortal, and they aren't bound to magical sources like the moonwells.
The only bound they have is to the plane of existence.
The dragons are classified under different colours, due to their connection with one or the other natural element and concept.
Red dragons are connected to fire and life (as concept opposed to death), while blue dragons are linked to water and magic, for example.
Green dragons, on the other side, are the guardians of nature, but also strictly bound to dreams. Their Aspect, Ysera, created the Emerald Dream, a parallel dimension to our own, untouched by the corruption affecting Azeroth, that got attacked by different evil forces in the course of the Eras. A refuge for everyone who sought the balance of nature and wanted to try and bring the same balance back on Azeroth again.
Sadly, about 14 years ago, the black dragon Aspect, connected to the concept of death and the spirit's world, lost his mental sanity becoming practically a wandering, raging fire mountain, and went flying through Azeroth, even traveling in and out of the Emerald Dream, leaving nothing but death and destruction in his path.
The mother of Idekus, Inikus, from what I gathered, was protecting her little dragon, and, since her husband died under the claws of the Aspect, she must have panicked and therefore dreamwalked to the only place where she thought they would've been safe from his wrath: a world without magic. Your world."
"Wait, wait, wait. So you're telling me that not only are you from another world and insanely old for our standards, but that Midoriya is from your world too?"
Aizawa was starting to grasp the situation, but to believe it? That was another matter.
"Yes. You really are a good teacher, young man: you couldn't explain anything to a student if you didn't understand it yourself beforehand", she replies calmly, satisfied.
"It seems illogical. How can you prove what you are saying?", Aizawa is irritated: how come this woman is treating him almost like a teenager?
'Although, if she really is as old as she's stated...' He shivers imperceptibly. How much knowledge can you get in such a long life? How much combat training did she have? Not to mention she has this...magic. That would explain her demeanor perfectly.
