The doctors still are unsure of how to treat him because of his... Quirk's nature.
They don't suspect that the problem is not a Quirk, but even if they had an idea of who exactly is laying in that bed, they couldn't help much anyway.
He lays in bed; he still looks like he's peacefully sleeping.
The wounds are medicated and all in all he should make it. From a physical point of view, that is.
Aizawa and Toshinori, as well as any classmate who is not forced to rest, already went visiting.
Toshinori looked at Katsuki, putting a hand on his shoulder and smiling softly to offer some comfort. He has to be strong for them.
"I will explain about One for All to Aizawa and the others, Young Bakugou. You and young Midoriya did keep the secret because I asked you to, after all. It is my responsibility, and I let you two take the burden on your shoulders for too long. You won. It will all be fine."
Katsuki's downcasted eyes looked at Izuku the whole time their mentor spoke, not wanting to miss any sign of a change he's desperate to see happen.
Katsuki stayed by Izuku's bed the entire day after they arrived with the ambulance.
His mother went to see him, and after a while of trying to reach him, she told Katsuki that they just have to wait. She has smiled sadly and told him to not lose hope.
"You should try and reach him as well, Katsuki. But even I don't know where exactly he may be...", she said slowly, not holding back her tears, while going to rest in another room, prepared for family members visiting the patients. She knows she can only wait: her magic has simply become too weak.
And Katsuki has never felt more overwhelmed by a task.
The day after, still sitting there after a troubled, dreamless night, he frowns thinking about this challenge.
Despite the training and his progress in handling the magic, this was always channeled to him from Izuku. He doesn't have an alternate source to use.
How is he supposed to get to him? Where is he?
He just has to wait for him to wake up...
'When he wakes up I'm going to...' He stops in his thoughts: will Izuku ever wake up?
How can Izuku's mind find his way without his body there?
'Without the pathfinders helping him to find the way, a whelp is lost...'
Mistarin's words resonate in his mind...
No. Katsuki refuses to let go. He made a promise.
'I have to be his lighthouse as I already was. Even if I lack the magic, the bond is still there. I have to try and bring him back here, somehow...'
He tries to activate the bond again, as Mistarin taught him to do.
He brings his chair even closer to the bed, to be able to sit comfortable, leaning a bit on the high bedside with his chest.
He places his hand on Izuku's chest, blushing a little at the contact. It feels comfortably warm and firm. The heartbeat is regular, slightly perceptible under his palm.
He shakes his head, he must concentrate and calm himself.
'Deep breaths, Katsuki.'
...
"Coniunctionem"
...
...
He can't feel anything.
