After some of the usual training, the day after their conversation, Mistarin speaks to Aizawa, and he nods to her.
She calls Izuku and Katsuki to follow her. They look briefly at each other, then get up and go with her. The druid brings them on a different training ground, a field.
She sits down on her knees, waiting for them to sit in front of her.
"Now, Bakugou. I need you to understand something important. What you saw until now, it's just some basic spells of healing, as well as the spell to strengthen the bond."
Bakugou nods and waits. What is she trying to explain?
This is all very new to him.
"More important, however, is for you to remember that the dreamwalkings you had with Idekus on the day I arrived, was a very simple thing, one that every whelp can do."
"You have explained that to the class already... What do you mean by "any whelp can do"?"
"Did you remember what I told you all about his mother's dreamwalking?"
"Yeah, pretty much impossible to forget it", he states nervously.
"I already explained this, but what she did was a more advanced form of dreamwalk. She traveled through that dimension only those with enough experience and dreamwalk abilities can use, like adult dragons. That dimension is, as you may remember, called the dream horizon.
Idekus is but a whelp still, but we need to train this kind of ability, even if it may be dangerous."
"What do you mean dangerous? What exactly is this dream horizon?"
Katsuki suddenly feels very nervous.
She looks at him for a second, pondering her words.
"I will try to explain it to you.
Imagine you are walking through a forest.
You arrive at a clearing, and on the other side there is a cliff's edge: from there you may see the ocean, and feel the ocean's breeze.
Now, that ocean is the dream horizon, the breeze is the magic that permeates it, and arriving in the clearing and seeing what I explained to you now, is how far you can go, because that is the dreamtime for you as a human. You can't go further: you are anchored to reality, which is the forest that you normally stroll in. If you were to lose your anchor, your reality, you could die falling from the cliff.
On the contrary, a proper dreamwalker, an adult green dragon normally, can get to the edge and take to the sky over the ocean, without losing their contact with reality. They can always get back to it without any damage.
That is obviously achieved in time.
The whelps could be able, theoretically, to fly over the dream horizon, but they could risk not being able to come back.
The dream horizon is a dimension not limited by the concepts of time and space.
What Idekus did with you and the others to show you his memories and those of Toshinori, as I already explained, was just bringing you further enough to get a glance over the cliff's edge."
By the time she finishes the explanation, Katsuki realizes.
"Shit! He could die because of the dreamwalking?!? Are you fucking crazy?!? We are not doing this bullshit!"
She looks at him without reacting.
She seems to understand what he is feeling, but she won't show it clearly.
