[8] Exhausted

Jin and Nayeon just came from dinner and they're already heading home.

Jin is driving the car while Nayeon is just beside him in the passenger seat. She is busy checking things on her Ipad about work.

"I heard that Marketing Team was very busy the whole day," Jin spoke while eyes on the road.

"Mmmm," Nayeon replied, still busy.

"And you're still working when you can continue it tomorrow,"

"I have to finish this today or else Jihyo-ssi will get mad with the whole team," she said.

"This day just had a whole mess in the office, it's tiring." She complained.

"What happened?" He asked.

"An intern's error. I didn't expect her single mistake triggered the whole team. One way or another, we have to fix the mess or we all get a memorandum."

"And you still looked calm about it? If that was me I will teach that intern a lesson." He asserted.

"She's an intern. She's still learning, mistakes are inevitable for her. The team actually got mad but I scolded them for getting furious. I mean, we all started being an amateur."

"Uhh, right. You have a point." He agreed nonetheless.

They already arrived and Nayeon excitedly gets out of the car because she badly wants to rest, but reaching their condo building, there seems to be a problem.

"We're sorry ma'am sir,  but the elevator is unavailable at this moment. There was a problem and we're still fixing it."

"So you mean we have to take the stairs?"

"Unfortunately ma'am, you have to." The upkeep apologized.

"Come on, Nayeonie. No choice, let's go." Jin said.

Nayeon lazily walks and they went to take the stairs.

"Seriously, from here to the 9th floor?" She groaned.

"It's not that we'll walk straightly, we can rest on the 3rd or 4th floor if you get tired." - Jin.

"Alright," she lazily replied and they went on.

Jin noticed how tired his best friend is, she is even very silent that she's lazy to have a conversation. So, when on the 3rd floor, he offered a piggyback ride.

"You serious?"

"Did I offer stuttering? Come on, you're obviously worn out and I won't be wondering if you'll slump while stepping up."

"And as if you don't know, I'm a buff guy. I can carry you, I can even carry two Nayeons if there is," he joked.

Nayeon smiled, and just accept the guy's offer.

Jin slowly walks up while carrying his best friend on his back. He can feel the girl's breath against his neck. He assumes she is sleeping.

"What a heavy sleeper," he muttered. He knows it that every time she is very tired, she easily gets to sleep.

He also remembers the moment when he always carries her to bed every time she dozes off when they're having a movie marathon in the middle of the night. And those times, he kisses her forehead before heading out. It is actually a thing that is unknown to the girl. She's not aware of the guy's actions to her.

For Jin, there's nothing wrong about it.

"A best friend can kiss a best friend, right?" He thought.

He lives on the 7th but he straightly walks up to the 9th floor where it's his best friend's unit.

He arrived and slowly carried Nayeon. As much as he wants to wake her up, he won't because he knows she will not wake up anyway. So, he carefully rested her on her bed, he fixes her position and covers her with the blanket.

"Good night Nayeonie," he whispered.

And again, unbeknownst to the girl, he kisses her forehead before heading out.
