I was going to write about this issue eventually but I got another message from a user that was concerned to say the least, and thinking back, it wasn't the first time that it happened so I decided I should prioritize this first. Every writer on Wattpad needs to know about this so tag your friends if you can!
1. What is Truyen?
Some writers who are aware of its existence perceive Truyen as a site that copies people's works off Wattpad [see inserted photo above]
I've seen a lot of people who panicked over this and I'm not going to hold it against them— it is normal to be worried, but if you're going to spread the word then at least try to search about it first.
Causing unnecessary panic is the one thing you should NEVER EVER DO. Don't forget that.
Here is what Wattpad has to say in their community platform (which unfortunately has been deactivated weeks ago):

2. Should I be worried?
Fuck no. Wattpad said it themselves, they ARE working on it so SIT DOWN AND DON'T DO THIS SHIT:
- Make an announcement/chapter saying:"holy shit guys my harry styles fanfic was plagirized I am SO PISSED I want to cry— I saw it on a website called truyen and I think you guys should search too if your story is there WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!1"
- Visit Truyen's site just for the heck of it (who in the world opens a suspicious-looking site knowing it's a risk?)

If you learn about this in the future then don't act like it's a really big deal and also try to convince others who are unaware. When Truyen first came to my attention, the first thing I did was search my work up (which of course appears).
I wasn't panicking. I was just confused.
The next thing I did was I typed up a famous author's book (that already got published by Wattpad Books) on Google then added 'Truyen' next to it.
I pressed search and surprise surprise, their work was there too. THAT was the moment I knew I shouldn't be worried.
Because let's face it, if it WAS a big deal then they would've filed a lawsuit or maybe they had some complications on getting their book traditionally published.
There was NOTHING. Truyen might be a bitch but they had no effect whatsoever. So I let it go and moved on— and I suggest you do the same.
