It was Saturday night. I spent my Saturdays as I usually did, sitting at home, reading. That was when my phone rang.
"Spencer?" I answered.
" Marianne, They're showing 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' in the theaters tonight. Do you wanna go?"
"Yeah, ok. What time?"
"I'd say, meet you at your apartment around Six?" He told me.
"Ok. See you then." I hung up. Did Dr. Spencer Reid just ask me out? I smiled and rushed to the bathroom, quickly hopping into the shower. Once I got out, I curled my brown hair and tired it up into a ponytail. I rushed to my closet. I pulled out a blue collared dress with white polka-dots, a cream colored pull over sweater, and a pair of black tights. I pulled the sweater over the dress and wore the tights with a pair of Black converse. I grabbed my purse and my coat before checking the clock. It was Six Twenty seven. I rushed down stairs, waiting on the sidewalk. Reid pulled up and I got in.
~~~
We watched as the man banged on the cracked windshield, saying "Help! They're coming!" I reached over and grabbed Spencer's hand. I squeezed it, and he squeezed back.
~~~
The movie ended and we walked out.
"Are you hungry?" I asked.
"Yeah, Do you want to get some food?" I nodded and we headed off to a small cafe across the street.
~~~
After we ate, Spencer stopped at my apartment.
"Well, thank you for inviting me. It was fun."
'You're welcome." I smiled.
"Do you want to come in?" I asked.
"It's late." He said.
"It's Eight Thirty. You don't have to come in if you don't want to. I don't care." He shrugged, turning the car off and getting out. We walked up the stairs and I unlocked the door. "Make yourself at home. Do you want anything?"
"Water?" He asked. I nodded and walked into the kitchen. "Quite a collection of books here!"
"I told you, my mom was a librarian and my dad was a professor. The always send me books that they think I will find intellectually stimulating."
"Do you read Stephen Hawking?" He asked.
"At my house, 'The Theory of Everything' was our bedtime story." I walked into the living room. He was looking around my book shelves and I handed him his glass of water.
'Thank you." He took a sip and put it down, before picking up a book.
" 'Beginner's Guide to European History' by Meredith Harper?"
"My sister. She's a historian." I answered. He nodded. I gently took the book from him and put it back on the shelf. I took both of his hands.
"Tonight really was fun, though."
"I thought so." I smiled, kissing him on the cheek.
