I woke up and quickly put on my favorite dress. It was about knee length and was peach with a white color. I slid on a pair of white flats and put my hair up in a bun. The team was going on a much needed vacation, and I was going to Las Vegas with Spencer to meet his mom. I drove down to the BAU to pick something up from my desk.
"Hey Harper! So what are you big plans?" Morgan asked.
"I'm going home with Spencer." I told him, putting some things into my bag.
"Oh! Meeting the parents! They're taking it to the next level." Elle joked. I laughed.
"Have a good time in Jamaca! Elle, be sure and keep an eye on him. Young women in bikinis and Morgan, bad combination." Morgan rolled his eyes and I made my way out the door. Spencer was sitting in his car, staring straight ahead. I put my suitcase in the back seat and climbed in. "Hey, are you ok?"
"Are you sure you want to come with me? You could visit your parents, or go with Morgan and Elle." He told me. I shook my head.
"Spencer, how many times are you going to ask? I want to do this. I'm excited for this." I grabbed his hand. "I'm going to meet your mom. Now come on! We have a flight to catch." I buckled my seat belt and he started driving.
~~~
I smiled excitedly as we made our way through the airport. I grabbed Spencer's hand.
"Come on!" I begged.
"Are you sure you have two PhD's? Because you look like your not old enough for a high school diploma." He asked. I ignored him. They took our bags and we boarded the plane and sat in our seats.
"I'm so excited!" He nodded, looking around the plane. "Spencer?" I touched his face. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong. I just haven't seen my mother in a while." I put my hand on his knee.
"It's going to be fine."
"How do you know?"
"Because I'm here. You have you be happy when I'm around, I mean look at me!" I joked, twiling strands of his hair in my fingers. He looked at me and I kissed him. He chuckled. "You see? I just have that effect on people."
~~~
We dropped our things off at the hotel and headed over to the Sanitarium. I held Spencer's had as we looked at his mother from across the room. A woman came up behind us.
"I heard a rumour you were here.Who's this?"
"This is my girlfriend, Marianne Harper." I shook her hand."How's she doing?"
" The meds stabilize the worst of her symptoms, But she still has bad days. What makes her most happy are her journals and...Your daily letters." I looked at him. I didn't know he wrote her letters."She is exceptionaly proud of you."
"She is?"
'Talks about you all the time, to any one who will listen. Staff, patients. Her journals are filled with the cases you tell her about. Calls then your adventures. I'm fairly certain she wrote about a girlfriend too."
"Mom's of the beleif that you can find adventure all around you if you just look."
"I take it your mom is very profound." I told him. He nodded.
"That's what happens when your a professor of fifteenth century literature."
"She's going to be so excited that you were finally able to get here in person."
