"Hope everyone had a restful weekend." Hotch said as we sat in the round table room.
'That sounds ominous." Elle pointed out.
"Harringtonville Tennessee, Population Five thousand. Sixty four years since they had a homicide. They've had two in the last forty eight hours."
"First victim, Fifty seven-year-old widower and grandfather Paul Thompson. Ambushed in his yard, eighteen stab wounds to his neck and chest." The screen showed a smiling elderly man with two little girls. "No forced entry to the house, and the only object taken was a shotgun."
"Last night, Annie Stuart, Thirty Nine, was also ambushed and bludgeoned to death in her home with what appears to be Thompson's stolen gun. In this case the unsub apparently stole CD's, DVD's, and a little jewelry."
'This is a little extreme for a burglary." Morgan said.
"That's an understatement."
"And as you can see, Annie's throat was eviscerated."
"Yet Mr. Thompson wasn't, and this unsub used a different weapon at each crime scene.' I said.
"Two different M.O.'s."
'Two different killers?"
"Or one very psychotic individual." We all turned to see Gideon on crutches.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I got a list of things I want to try before it's too late."
"And orthepidic surgery is one of them?" Elle asked.
"No, skydiving. Apparently it's all about the landing."
'How long on the crutches?" Hotch questioned.
"Just a few days."
"So you can't go out in the field."
"Not on crutches no."
"Don't worry, I'll find a way to be helpful here." Gideon said. "Got a blitz attack Mo effort to move the body or clean up the evidence."
"With organized killers we see a pattern, we are able to predict their behavior. But with psycotic killers, they're guided by a given delusion."
"Ok. SO until we understand the nature of the Delusion, we can't predict his next move."
"And that's nearly impossible to do."
"Actually, I think we might have a clue." Spencer said. "These rings at the crime scene, they might be some kind of signature?"
"I can work this angle. I'll see if there's any significance to the patterns." Gideon said.
"Phsycotic are normally not that difficult to catch because they don't try to hide."
"Does that make your job easier?" JJ asked.
"Oh no. 'Cause until we do locate him, he'll keep doing that."
~~~
"All of the items stolen were taken from the upstairs bedroom. Why didn't he take her purse or cell phone, Or the jewelry off her body. It just doesn't make any sense." Elle told us. We were in one of the victims houses.
"Didn't make sense to us either." one of the cops said.
"This guy didn't come any closer to her then he had to."
