I am sorry in advance.
That smirk,
the same one he had when we were on the bus. It troubled him. He wasn't right, something was different about him. He always seemed so discrete before Brendon and him went their ways. Now he had a look of sweet revenge purely out of jealousy in his eyes. He wanted me because he couldn't have Brendon-his one and only true love. He masks that he loves me just to get back at him, just to see the shattered look on Brendon's face of being alone. Ryan wanted Brendon to feel like he does- abandoned, scared, and full of hate."Stop ok? I don't have time for this. Leave me alone goddamnit." This was the last straw, I'll go straight to the police department. I'm done with his immature shit- no matter how crazy and heartbroken he is.
I turn around to leave the room, but suddenly hear a click that makes my stomach drop.
"You're not going anywhere. Shut the door."
I obey and slowly close the door then twisting around. When I look for Ryan, his face is covered by a revolver pointed directly in my direction. He wanted to make sure we were eye to eye on who was in control here.
I can't speak, I can't think. A blank expression spreads across my face followed by trembling hands. I knew he was crazy-but I didn't expect it to go this far.
"Ryan please jus-"
"No, Dallon. You don't get to talk. You're staying right here with me. In this room until we get business done."
"Business? What business?"
I try not to make eye contact with him. I look down to the floor and mumble out my words, hoping he'll avoid me and leave me be. I've done nothing, and he's invaded my life, completely altered it.
A cold, bony finger prompts up my chin so I can look at him straight on. He's lost his crazy look- or at least I think he has. His eyes seem gentle and promising, his smile's turned warm. His hands move up my face to cup my cheeks in his palms. He brings me closer and pulls me into a gentle kiss- that I quickly hesitate. He pulls back with a concerned look on his face.
"Dallon what did I tell you? We're meant for eachother, baby. Don't pretend this isn't real, I know it is and you know it is. We can feel it when we're together."
No, I'm pretty sure I don't feel anything but disgust.
"And plus," he looks down seeing that his thumbs are running over the back of my hands, "you don't want to see Mr. Revolver again do you?"
What kind of sick bastard is he?
I gulp down, hands begging to sweat and tremble. I don't even know what to do anymore. Run? Fight? Go with it?
Before I can think another thought, Ryan's lips are crushed back on mine, forcefully kissing me. He tries to maneuver his tongue into my mouth, but I don't let him. If he thinks this is something, he's far too wrong.
The door beeps and unlocks.
"Dal- Holy Shit."
"Hi Brendon!" Talk about a change in moods.
"Ryan. What are you? And Dal?" He was more confused than angry. This was the second time he'd caught us in Ryan's act. He had to know this wasn't me, he knows me better. He knows this isn't what it looks like.
"Bren- please help me."
"Shut up Dally baby."
He shuts me up from further thought or word by placing his lips back onto mine, forcefully pushing me back into the wall. He pulls back once again and looks straight at Brendon who's lost in what he's witnessing.
"Ryan what are you doing."
"I'm replacing you Brendon." He sniffles.
"Ryan-no. You're not on? Please tell me you're not on something."
"What does it even matter to you Brendon?!" he spits out, hands clenching, and volume increasing, "You don't care anymore. You moved on without me. You took my own band and just forgot about me. You replaced me with this and expect me to be fine?! Fucking unbelievable."
This isn't even my fight. It's what they needed. All those years not knowing what was on each others minds, just assuming, it's finally out.
I guess I'll just stand here quietly.
"You left me Ryan. You're the one who quit! You're the one who said you loved me and left me."
"And you just let me go."
Brendon stares at Ryan, whose eyes are tearing up. His cheeks are growing red and his breaths are becoming shorter and shorter by the word.
"Brendon, I didn't want to leave. I had to, we were too much. And when I tried to get you back, you-you just left me. You had moved on, and I didn't know how to live."
"Ryan, you have to understand th-"
"No Brendon. Without you, I lost myself. I became a nobody. I started doing coke and just went on this craving to get back at you. I wanted Dallon, I needed to see what was better than me. I wanted him to fill the hole you left me with. But in honesty, nothing can Brendon. You complete me and I can't live without you."
Brendon's trying to hold back his tears by refraining from looking at a choked up Ryan.
"I love you Brendon. Please say you need to me too."
He sighs. But doesn't answer
Tears are rolling down Ryan's cheeks, he shakes his words out.
"Please. Tell me."
No words. No eye contact. Just a silent room.
Ryan breaths out. "Okay fine. I'll go. I'll leave you two-alone. Let me just go to the bathroom, fix myself up."
Brendon and I lock eyes when Ryan slips away, hearing the door lock click. Mine are filled with confusion while his are full of the past memories he had with Ryan. Some regrets, some he was glad he did.
I take a shaky breath.
Bam!
"RYAN!"
Brendon rushes to the bathroom door fumbling with the lock. He resorts to kicking the door down, then turning away to what he sees. His tears are bursting out, his breaths are shakier and deeper than mine.
"Ryan! No no no no no. Please Ryan no! He sinks to his knees staring at the bloody body of his ex-best friend. I just stand in the door way. I can't process what I see. No matter how long or deep I stare, I can't believe it. He took his life for love.
"Ryan! Please. Why did you do this! I love you Ryan, you know that. I always will. I always had and I always will."
Brendon hugs a collapsed Ryan screaming with pain. I can feel his pain in my own stomach.
I call the police and they arrive within the next three minutes.
"No no no! Don't! Don't take me away from him. Don't take him! Dallon please! Dallon baby no no don't!" I drag Brendon away so the paramedics are able to get to Ryan. He kicks, screams, and punches but still can't get passed my grip. I'm heartbroken by his love. By their love. After all, without me, this wouldn't be happening.
I pull him to the hotel bed and sit with him on the edge. He lays in my arms sobbing into my chest while I watch the paramedics do their work. I just stare at the emptiness in Ryan. Is he better off that way? Maybe it was just the drugs... but since this has been happening for so long, one can't help to think that he was hopeless without Brendon. He had not life to look forward to. And as for Brendon, he was just able to manage. He wasn't able to get over it any better, his feelings weren't lost. He was just able to cover up his pain with me.
Brendon falls asleep in my arms, tears sticking to his face. I kiss his head still holding him and just watch as they take Ryan out of the hotel room.
Ahh last chapter!!! But there'll be an epilogue soon!!!
