Nova

The air reeks of smoke and must. My eyes were just adjusting to the darkness but the corrupted air starts to claw at my eyes making my sight blurry.

I reach out and grab Judy's arm so she can help lead me through the crowd. Loud and indescribable music bribes it's way into my head and I can't even hear myself think.

"Hold on were almost there. I think I see Mason over by the bar," Judy says loud enough for me to hear.

How can she even see anything in here? I can feel my eyes burning from the tangy air and my chest feels heavy from trying to breathe in a patch of clean air.

I grip her arm harder and pull myself closer to her, feeling my arms brush against what feels like millions of people.

God why is it so crowded in here? Judy said that the club just opened downtown and we needed to go ASAP. How is it already so popular? Didn't she say it just open a few days ago?

We finally stop and my eyes start to adjust. The air isn't so murky and I can breathe a little easier.

I let go of Judy's arm as she hurries and runs to hug Mason as he leans against the bar. I scurry behind her and grab onto the bar for leverage.

God I need a drink.

"Took you guys long enough! I was beginning to think I was going to have to drink alone tonight," Mason smirks and hugs Judy back before giving me a small hug as well.

Judy, Mason, and I have been friends for a couple years now. We met during college orientation and have been inseparable since. They're really the only friends I have and I don't know what I would do without them. No one understands what we've been through together and it honestly scares me knowing my biggest secret lies with them....well our biggest secret.

"Well Miss Nova over here didn't realize she didn't have her phone by the time we got in the cab and went a few blocks before remembering and then we had to turn the cab all the way back to get it," Judy laughs and wraps her arm around my shoulders, nudging me a bit.

I roll my eyes and look around at the larger venue. There was only a few sources of white light, other than that the club was completely dim. I could definitely get lost in here.

"Well if there wasn't so many people in here. I felt like I touched more people just in the few minutes we've been here than in my lifetime. This is insane! How is it already so known?" My eyes roam the crowd and see people scattered around the club. There's got to be hundreds of people in here.

"It's the new hottest place. There's something new going on every night which makes it more interesting than any other club around here," Mason says before ordering us all drinks.

"Yeah! I heard last night they had this magician doing tricks and while he was performing with swords, he apparently swung the sword and cut off someones finger," Judy says to us while the bartender hands us our drinks.

"Oh shit, I heard about that too! Did you hear on their opening night they had dozens of strippers and one guy got so pissed off at one of them because she stole his wallet and he straight up shot her?" Mason adds nonchalantly while I just stand there wide eyed gripping my drink.

How can all these things happen without the club being shut down? I mean it's only been opened for just a couple days, It doesn't make sense that it hasn't been closed yet. Seems like some dangerous stuff goes on here, yet the whole club is filled with people.

I take a sip of my drink and glance around the area. There's people dancing and grinding while some look like they're actually having sex against the walls.

My eyes scan the crowd and I finally land on a couch piled with people. There's a small coffee table in front of the couch filled with various drugs. Pipes and bongs tower on the table while a long haired guy leans over to press his nose against the table.

His brown hair curls at the end while a few girls near him cheer him on for doing the line. When his head lifts he has his eyes shut, taking in the euphoric feeling of the cocaine entering his system. His face is finely chiseled and he looked angelic almost. When his eyes finally open they dart to mine, feeling like he's staring into my soul.

I stare, not knowing if he's actually looking at me or just someone else in the crowd. His eyes don't move though. He slowly leans back against the couch, bringing one arm to rest on the back of the couch behind him. His lips raise into a smirk as his eyes burn into mine.

I swear his eyes look familiar

I swear his eyes look familiar. I can't make out the exact color due to the club being so dark and him being far away, but I get a sense of déjà vu by the way he holds his stare.

I finally pull my gaze away when Judy shakes my arm.

"Did you hear me Nova? I said do you want a shot?"
I turn my head towards her and blink a few times, feeling like I'm coming out of a trance.

"Oh um sure," I say before turning my head back to where the man sat on the couch. Sure enough, he was still staring, but this time a girl was preoccupying herself by running her hand up and down his bare chest. He wore a black button up with a few being unbuttoned revealing his inked skin.

What a creature.

Mason and Judy go to hand me a shot glass before following my gaze.

"Oh shit that's him," Mason says seeming starstruck in the moment.

"Who is he?" Judy asks Mason as she raises her eyebrow at him. I find myself not blinking, feeling like I was pulled back under his spell.

Something about those eyes.

"He's the owner of the club. The dudes like super weird, I've heard some crazy shit about him. His name is Harry Styles," Mason informs us before dipping his head back and going ahead and taking his shot.

Harry Styles.

"Well he's pretty interested in little Nova over here," Judy smirks before taking her shot as well.

"I told you it was a good idea to wear that mesh top," she whispers in my ear.

I was wearing a black long sleeved mesh shirt with my black lace bra peaking through. My shirt was tucked into a tight black skirt paired with black heeled boots.

He didn't seem to be checking me out though. He only stared into my eyes, not breaking his gaze. Not even at the girl who was now kissing his neck.

"Why's he staring at me like that though?" I ask barely pulling my gaze away from the mysterious Harry.

"Looks like you're his next victim," Mason almost whispers.
