"...so Bam spent the next fifteeen minutes running around and squealing like a girl."
Lisa laughed, nearly choking on her chocolate milkshake. Jackson smiled at her. They were finally on the long-awaited date and it was going well. He was funny, sweet, caring, handsome, talented...everything a girl would ever need, right? They sat on a bench in a lonely park.
"Thanks for today, oppa," she murmured quietly. "I needed this."
He nodded and suddenly, Lisa became aware that they were way too close. Her cheeks heated as their faces were nearly touching. After a few seconds, their lips met awkwardly and she closed her eyes out of embarrassment. They pulled away after only a few seconds.
"There's someone else, isn't there?" Jackson asked her quietly. Lisa sighed and hid her face in her hands.
Over the past week, she had tried to convince herself that this was the right thing to do. That she needed this for herself, that she needed to start forgetting Jungkook. But if it was right, why did it feel so wrong? And worse, why did it feel right with Jungkook when she knew that was wrong? In short, her life was a mess.
"Jackson...you're so perfect. If I weren't so messed up, I swear I'd already be falling at your feet. I'm so, so sorry," she muttered ashamedly. Jackson chuckled and put a hand on her back, comforting her.
"Lisa...you should talk to him. Whoever it is."
Lisa peeked at him through her hands.
"You really think so? You don't mind?"
"You can go right now, if you want. Liz, what matters is your happiness."
Lisa stood up.
"Oppa, I had so much fun today. I know there wasn't really a spark, but...I hope we can keep being friends. We can tell each other some more of Bambam's humiliating memories."
Jackson laughed.
"Of course. I had fun too. Now go," he smiled at her. She grinned and ran off, waving at him with her infamous aegyo.
"You're the best, oppa! See you!"
Jackson grinned and shook his head, amused. She definitely was worth it.
...
Lisa showed up at his doorstep, expecting to see another girl, but she saw none. She rang the doorbell. Nobody answered. She tried opening and found out it wasn't locked.
She went in quietly. He was nowhere to be seen. Walking into the kitchen, she found him there and her heart broke for him. He was sitting in the middle of a pile of bottles, drinking his worries away. Lisa sat down next to him.
"You're really not the best at solving your problems in a healthy way that doesn't involve sex or alcohol, are you?"
"Nope," he answered. She sighed.
"Guk..."
"How was the date?"
"It was fun."
"Was he good to you?"
"Very good."
Jungkook scoffed and was about to take another swig of the bottle when he felt Lisa's hand on his.
"Stop. Please, just listen to me," she begged. He lowered his hand slowly and Lisa stood up, clearing all the bottles away and throwing them in the trash. He watched her carefully.
"I really tried to like him," she began as she wiped the counter clean. "But you kept on appearing in my mind. I felt guilty."
"Why?" he asked quietly.
"That's what I don't know. You're the one who hurt me, aren't you?"
Lisa walked over to him and grabbed his arm, placing it over her neck.
"Let's move your drunk ass to the bathroom."
He didn't stop her and walked as best as he could.
"Take a shower, we'll talk later."
...
"Hangovers suck, don't they?"
It was the next day, and his head hurt like hell. Lisa sat on his bedside as she fed him.
"Why are you taking care of me?"
"Why not?"
"I hurt you, didn't I?"
"Did you?"
He gave her a look.
"You're better off with Jackson. He takes good care of you."
"Jackson's not you. I think of him as an older brother," she smirked.
"Then wha-"
She rolled her eyes and shut him up with a spoonful of soup.
"I love you, you moron."
