Lisa shifted around in her bed. It was way past midnight but she was wide awake for two main reasons:
1) Jennie and Taehyung's engagement.
2)Jungkook.
To say the least, Jennie's little announcement had definitely soured the mood. Of course everyone was happy for them, but they couldn't simply ignore the fact that they had hidden so much from them.
The group...they weren't just friends. The girls had long been practically sisters, and the guys brothers. And all of them together...it was like a family. The family that none of them had ever really had.
They had all come from not-so-happy households with dark pasts, but worked their way high up, to the very top. But they never had a true family until they found each other.
And apparently, Jennie and Taehyung had been lying to them for god-knows-how long.
It hurt. It hurt so much that even Jisoo and Yoongi had been reduced to tears. Too much had happened in the last week. She knew Jennie and Taehyung were hurting too, but she didn't have the strength to forgive them at the moment. It was too much.
And the second reason...Lisa tried hard to ignore it. But deep inside she knew the truth. Somehow, it wouldn't let her sleep. She rubbed her swollen eyes, frustrated, and sat up, hugging her knees.
Why does it feel like everything's falling apart?
She contemplated the window for a while, her chin on her knees. Was she brave enough?
Maybe not. But she definitely felt guilty enough. Lisa forced herself up and took a deep breath before letting her feet lead her to his room. She knocked gently at his door.
"Jungkook?" she called out softly. She received no response and knocked again.
"Come in," his tired voice came. She opened cautiously, clutching her bathrobe tightly around her frame.
"Kookie..."
Jungkook was lying on his bed, his eyes closed. He looked exhausted but looked up and met her gaze anyway. Something woke up inside her at that moment, something that gave her the courage to part her lips and ask him what had been on her mind all night.
"You really meant it, didn't you?"
