He stared at her for a second, then looked down. Lisa had never seen him so vulnerable.
"Yeah," he rasped out, then cleared his throat and looked back at her. "I did."
Lisa nodded and trod over to his bed to lay down next to him. He placed his arm around her waist, as he always did, kissed her head. She smiled.
"Is the proposal still up?"
"Would you say yes?"
Lisa played with the hem of her shirt as she contemplated his question.
"You know I love you."
"What does that mean?"
"That I'm also quite scared, Jungkook. I trust you now. I believe that you've changed. But every second I spend with you, it just makes me love you so much that I shock myself. It's hard to give in because...it will hurt so much if it ends."
"Why would it have to? Lili, listen to me," he moved and cupped her face gently, seeing the tears streaming down her face for probably the fifth time that day. "You're the most precious person in the world to me."
"Love burns out," Lisa looked down. "I've seen it happen. The love burns out. At one point, I didn't believe it truly existed. Or what it even was. People change, Jungkook."
"If we change, then we'll just have to change back. Because nothing will change the fact that I love you. You're it for me. Always have been, will always be."
"I love you," Lisa muttered with a smile as their foreheads touched. She traced her new necklace with a finger. "And yes, Jeon Jungkook, I will be your girlfriend. Just promise that we can stick together this time."
He kissed her forehead softly.
"I promise."
