My heart sounded like an olympics level marching band in my chest as I heard the soft click of the knob, seeing a sliver of his arm clad in a soft blue shirt as he tentatively pulled the door open.
And finally there he was.
Standing right in front of me at the threshold of his own apartment. Cheeks flushed red with a deep blush as he fidgeted awkwardly. Still unsure if he really was about to do what I think he is, before letting out a resigned sigh and turning around and walking back inside.
"Get in."
This, my friends, is what is known as Mission Accomplished!
With a grin wider than the great barrier reef I finally entered his private sanctuary, and walked bang into my first obstacle and tumbled right into him, taking him down with me as both of us got very fairly intimate with his apartment floor. Crushing his body under mine as he had essentially broken my fall. It took me a whole moment after we had landed flat on the floor to fully realize that he was under me.
As in under me. Every freaking inch of his lithe body pressed against mine, squirming uncomfortably to squiggle out from there, while I was still quite paralysed with shock.
Remember those acrobatics critters doing double flips in my stomach. Instantly morphing into stomping elephants as their vibrations traveled straight down the length of my spine. Sending an involuntary shiver through my body.
No, no, no, no.
This was so not the reaction I am ready to deal with as I quickly fumbled myself back to my feet, trying to put some major distance between me and the man I was just using as my cushion.
Arthit on the other hand obviously having none of those confusing thoughts that have been plaguing me recently, cause he was still on the floor, groaning in pain as the frown on his face kept progressively getting deeper.
Shit!
Watching in real time as his almost pleasant mood instantly vanished as his inner grouch was about to make an entrance. Reaching down to grab his arm to pull him up when he swatted my hand away, and popped back up to his feet in one go without requiring any assistance. And obviously grumbling non-stop.
"What the fuck? Are you blind too?"
"I'm sorry ok, it's just so dark here. Don't you have any lights on? How do you even manage to see...oh..."
"Fucking genius arent you?"
Leaving me blushing to the tips of my toes, he swung around once again, limping slightly as he moved towards the wall and flipped on a switch, suddenly sending a warm wash of light that illuminated the entire living room.
Which looked a little too...normal.
Why did it surprise me I don't really know. I mean, I didn't really think he was a vampire sleeping in coffins or anything, but I still didn't expect a perfectly normal looking living room. Including a giant TV and pictures hanging on the wall. Hell, the man even had some regular, non-blind people magazines on his coffee table, which seemed a little extra bizarre to me but I am not about to bring up any questions that is only going to result in more snapping tonight.
Let's just try to get through my very first visit into his apartment without any more mishaps please.
So I just stood back silently and watched as his confident steps glided around his apartment with no trouble at all, grabbing the first aid box from one of the cabinets and walking over to the large dining table and settling on the chair to begin working on the wound on his leg.
