Deep breaths, Kong. Deep breaths.

In and out. In and out.

Slow and steady.

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.

Just like that. Nice and easy.

Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.

Gulping in a long, cool breath of air, I tried to clear my brain, sighing out another pep talk to myself, I adjusted the overflowing bag of ice creams and chocolates before cautiously raising my hand to knock on the shut door when I heard my name being called out by a rather familiar voice.

"Kongpob?"

Swinging around I saw none other than Arthit's infamous twin, holding a similar assortment of goodies in his arms, looking at the contents in my bag cocking a questioning eyebrow at me with a smirk.

"And exactly how badly did you screw up?"

"Nowhere close to your fuck up. I...I think."

Chewing my lower lip I once again ran through the hundreds of scenarios that will play out, and nearly all of them seemed to end with Arthit slaughtering me. I have a feeling my bribes of desserts might not really be enough this time. Especially with him already being in such a foul mood due to his brother. Still in the middle of contemplating if I should talk to Arthit as soon as possible or if I should perhaps come back at a time when his annoying brother was not about to ruffle his feathers even more when suddenly the decision was not mine to make anymore.

The front door swinging open with the man standing at the threshold being unrecognizably my Arthit. In only the two days I had seen him last, he had managed to grow out a scruffy stubble and don on the oldest, most oversized clothes I have ever seen on him. And watching the man I have never ever observed dressed anything less than his most pristine self, only sent a quiet shiver down my spine. Why do I feel this night is not going to end the way I hope it will.

"Kong?"

"Yeah, yeah, it's me."

His frown easing up slightly as he nodded, raising his head before he spoke up in his low gruff voice again.

"Is Sol here too?"

"Yes Arthit, I'm here."

Letting out a long sigh, his shoulder practically deflating, he simply left the door open before turning around and walking back inside his apartment without another word.

Sol and I sharing a quick concerned look before slowly following him inside. The awkwardness around us almost palpable as Arthit continued ignoring us while finishing up the dinner he was still in the middle of cooking. And as he kept his back firmly to us while wordlessly going about his business, Sol and I kept our mouths tightly snapped shut, neither of us willing to be the first to poke the sleeping beast. Just gaping at his every action, waiting for the simmering tension to finally boil over.

But instead of blowing up in a way, I would have expected my normally volatile Arthit to behave, all he did was load up two plates full of food and placed it on the dining table before fetching his own dinner and quietly taking his seat. Without addressing either of us even once as he quietly began digging into his meal.

Sol and I exchanging another worried look we hesitantly picked up our own forks to play around with the food on our plates while Arthit continued pretending we weren't breathing the same air as him. Anxiety sending a chilled shiver down my spine as I kept staring at his expressionless face.

Why do I get the feeling he already knows what I am doing here today? Seriously, I have got to delete his number from my mum's phone. That woman specializes in creating all sorts of unique problems for me.
