Jay had found Jamie in the untouched nursery, folding some clothes into a small bag for the twins.
"This is what she was doing with her overtime wage then". Jay chuckled as he leant against the doorframe, looking at the piles of clothes she had already bought.
Jamie looked back and smiled, "she always wanted girls. She used to tell mom that she'd be the best grandma ever, because she was already the best mom." Jamie sighed, "it's a shame the parents aren't here to see her and the girls of course."
Jay nodded, whilst it was sad that the Frances parents weren't here, he knew he could be faced with a much more difficult predicament. If Emilia didn't pull through, he faced a lifetime of explanations. How was he supposed to explain to his daughters that their mom had died.
Luckily, Jamie spoke up drawing him away from his thoughts, as if by some miracle he knew what was going through the Halstead's head he turned to him. "We're not there yet".
Nodding, Jay seemed to compose himself. "We best head back to Med. The girls need their clothes."

When Jay walked back into the hospital he hadn't expected to see the commotion outside of Emilia's room."What's going on?" Jay screamed in panic as he bolted towards the door. 'What's happening?' He continued to rush.
The nurses tried to push him back but he was too strong and squeezed through the crowd. But when he finally saw Emilia's body, he stopped in shock.
'Jay I'm going to need you to get out', Will screamed trying to settle Emilia's panic.
Turning back to Emilia, Will tried to calm her down. 'Emilia it's Will. I need you to try and stay still.'
'Let's give her 2mg of sedative. That should calm her enough to not cause any damage when taking the ventilation tubes out.' Dr Choi insisted.
Will nodded calling for a nurse to administer the small injection. Within seconds, Emilia's body began to stop thrashing and with eyes full of tears she began to calm down.
Jay watched helplessly. This was all he had been waiting for for weeks. But, in a snap, he thought, she just have woken up on her own. That was good, that was a good sign.
Will walked over to his brother after the team had managed to calm the female lieutenant. "She woke up on her own. We didn't wake her up without you." He promised, slightly concerned that Jay was doubting his capabilities.
Jay nodded. "I didn't think you had." Looking back to Emilia, he asked. "What happens now?"
Looking towards Emilia, in the same direction Will stayed silent for a second. "Once the sedation wears off and we've had chance to assess her, we'll know more then. We'll probably need to send her for a CT scan to make sure swelling has reduced. We'll then get neuro to do cognitive assessments and determine, how much damage this internal pressure had caused."

Yes a very short chapter but needed to get some feedback before I continue. Where shall I go with this, what should happen next?
