Lily Black and the Twin Souls (Book Two)

Chapter Two: The Burrow

The rest of the week passed quickly for Lily, and before she knew it, it was time for her and Teddy to go to the burrow. They hugged Lily's adoptive parents goodbye and promised not to get expelled since they wouldn't see them again until the Christmas Holidays when they were all planning on staying with the Walters. Lily already had her own room in their house. Well, it was more of a mansion really, Teddy's dad was from a rich pureblood line, like her own, and most families like that owned huge mansions like that. 

Lily took hold of her trunk and Marauder's carrier, before throwing down her floo powder and saying,

"The Burrow!" She shut her eyes tightly and tucked in her elbows, as she spun through the fireplaces. Then it stopped, and she opened her eyes to find herself in a house, the Burrow, she assumed. She moved out of the fireplace as Teddy came tumbling through behind her. She grinned and thought to him,

Let's not make any noise and prank them awake! Teddy's face lit up,

'Course, let's do this!

They set their things down in the sitting room, and proceed to wake everyone up in a timely manner. When they were done, Lily sat down at the kitchen table and waited for them to come downstairs. Ten minutes later, they came filing into the room looking terribly tired. 

When they saw Lily and Teddy sitting at the kitchen table, they all froze, and then Mrs. Wealsey said,

"Ah, you must be Lily and Teddy! Welcome to the Burrow!" Lily grinned,

"Yep, thank you for having us Mrs. Weasley, I love your house. It's quite homey." Mrs. Weasley smiled widely,

"Thank you dear, your welcome anytime," then she turned toward the window and shouted at Percy to open it, which he did so, allowing something that resembled a feather duster, to fly through it and landed on the table. Percy detached the letters and handed them out to each person. Lily gratefully took hers, unfolded it, and scanned the list. She turned to Teddy and smirked,

"This is going to be a fun year Shadow!" Teddy smirked back,

"Indeed it is Flamie, indeed it is."

A while later, they were all dressed and standing in front of the fireplace, while Mrs. Weasley explained how floo powder worked to Harry, who had never done it before. Lily and Teddy volunteered to go last, they watched as everyone else spun out of view, before linking arms and imitating what Harry said so they could go get them. They soon found themselves inside a store in Knockturn Alley, called Borgin and Burkes. Lily quickly pulled Teddy over to an antique-looking cabinet to hide inside. Apparently Harry had the same idea because he was already inside. Lily motioned for them to be quiet, and watched out a crack in the door as the shop door swung open with. Dracula entered, trailing behind his father, whom Lily quickly decided to call Uncle Lucy. Twenty minutes later, they disappeared and Lily walked out of the store with Harry and Teddy close behind her. Lily waved her hand discreetly, and an invisible shield appeared around them. She didn't want to take any chances in a place like this.

They found Hagrid, who was buying flesh-eating slug repellent. He quickly showed them the way out of the Alley, and Lily let her shield drop. They found the Weasley's who had somehow managed to pick up Hermione along the way. They collected money for their shopping, and split off into different directions. Teddy and Lily immediately followed the Weasley twins and Lee Jordan into the joke shop and each grabbed plenty of prank supplies. They put it all in Lily's small rucksack, which she had previously enchanted with an undetectable extension charm like the one on her trunk. She found those charms to be rather brilliant. For an hour, she wandered around Diagon Alley with Teddy, buying all her stuff for the school year, minus the books, as they were meeting the Weasley's in Flourish and Blott's for those. Lily glanced at her watch and her eyes widened,

"Shadow come on, we were supposed to be there two minutes ago!" They took off down the street, back to where everyone was inside the very crowded bookshop. Lily rolled her eyes, before pushing through the crowd to reach them. She didn't understand what the big deal about Lockheart was, he was just so fake! She didn't need a book to know that, but she wanted to confirm it so she took a deep breath and used legillimancy to enter his mind.

A few moments later, she retreated scowling. Teddy noticed her face and thought to her,

What did you see?  Her scowl deepened,

He's a fraud, he finds out everything there is to know about whatever it is, and then he wipes the memory of whoever actually did it, taking the credit for himself. He worse than Snivellous, and I didn't think that was possible. He's also the new DADA teacher. We're not going to learn anything this year! At least we'll have a good target for pranking though. Teddy's scowl matched her own.

Lily watched in disgust as Harry was dragged up to the stage for a picture with Lockheart, who then gave a long speech, and gave him free books. Harry returned and gave his books to Ginny, muttering about buying his own. Lily smiled proudly, his mother would be proud of him. Lily was about to turn back around, when she heard Dracula's voice talking to Harry.

"Bet you loved that, didn't you Potter! Famous Harry Potter, can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page." Lily watched proudly as Ginny defended him, then decided to say hello when her awful Uncle Lucy came over. She bounced over and smiled at him. It was better to make a good impression than a bad one, she decided.

"Hello Uncle Lucy! Have we met before? I don't think we have, but we're related. I'm Lily. Lily Black. It's pleasure to meet you." He looked mildly curious as he shook her outstretched hand. 

"Hello, I suppose your Sirius Black's daughter?" Lily nodded,

"Yup. Oh! I wanted to tell you I've met Tommy. He sends his regards." Lily smirked as a flash of fear passed over his face and he said,

"If you ever meet him again, do tell him where to find me." Lily smirked,

"Perhaps, see you later Uncle Lucy!" She linked arms with Teddy and they flounced out of the shop as a loud crash came from behind them.

What was that about Flamie? Teddy asked in her head. Lily smirked,

I decided to make a good impression for once. Plus he's terrified of Tommy, did you see his face? It was hilarious. Teddy nodded, 

I suppose so, let's go find the Weasley's so we can go back to the Burrow. They hurried to find the Weasleys and traveled back.
