Lily didn't particularly enjoy Herbology. She didn't necessarily hate it either, she just found it rather boring, so she was incredibly glad when it was over. She walked with Teddy, Harry, Hermione, and Ron back up to the castle for lunch. She wasn't excited at all for their afternoon lesson, which happened to be Defense Against the Dark Arts. In fact, she was dreading it. She was in a horrible mood all during lunch, which only ended when Colin Creevey approached Harry and started asking him about signed photos. She and Teddy were both rolling around in the grass laughing Dracula walked up.

"Signed photos? Your giving out signed photos, Potter?" he asked, smirking. Sometimes Lily couldn't help but admire her cousin's sass. A sideways glance at Teddy proved the same thing for him. She smirked and asked,

"Are you really Harry? Could I have one? I need it for something." She was definitely thinking of Ginny. She had seen the way the girl looked at him. When Harry started to protest, she waved her wand and a photo of him appeared in her hand. She dragged him over to a stone wall, and forced him to sign it before skipping off to find Ginny. She found the girl writing furiously in some sort of diary.

"Hey Ginny!" Ginny's head whipped up and she slammed the diary shut, before asking,

"Erm-yes Lily?" Lily grinned triumphantly before handing the red-head the photo,

"Here ya go Gin. He actually signed it. I forced him to, but he still did." Ginny's face turned bright red as she blushed furiously. She looked down at the photo and blushed even more so, while Lily smirked,

"Enjoy the photo, I've got to get to Defense Against the Dark Arts." Lily waved cheerfully at the younger girl before walking off to Defense Against the Dark Arts. She opened the door just as Lockheart finished introducing himself and said,

"And I'm Lily Black, the most amazingly beautiful person in existence, yes, yes I know you love me, no need to cheer! Thank you all, as you were." The class erupted in cheers as Lily slid into her seat next to Teddy.

Where were you Flamie? Lily smirked,

I was giving Ginny the photograph. It was quite funny, she turned bright red. Teddy snorted and shook his head, before they both turned back to their fraud of a professor who was handing out tests. Lily smirked when she got hers and saw the questions. Jeez, could this guy be any more full of himself? Okay, she was being a bit of a hypocrite, but who cares, he was a git. She silently duplicated her copy of the quiz and filled one of them out with the correct answers and her name, before filling the other one out with the stupidest answers possible. When she was done with that one, she wrote in her neat scrawl,

'Love, from, a friend of the Marauders,' She smirked as Lockheart waved his wand, causing all of them to zoom up to the front of the class where he read through them, before pulling out three of them, and putting the rest aside. Lily smirked, she knew exactly whose those were. Two were hers, and the other was Hermione's. Her suspicions were confirmed as he rattled on about how most people did bad then said,

"But Miss Granger and Miss Black, have gotten every single question correct. Full marks to both of you, where are Miss Granger and Black?" Lily leaned back in her chair and raised her hand, while Hermione turned bright red and raised hers. Lily rolled her eyes, honestly she actually liked him? She watched as they were both praised, Lockheart didn't even bring up the other test, he would most likely complain about it later to the other teachers. Lily watched in amusement as Lockheart tried,(And failed,) to make Cornish Pixies sound dangerous. Lily performed silent legillimancy on her professor and saw what he was planning on doing. She scooted her chair closer to Teddy's and cast a protective shield around them. Then Lockheart released the pixies and she burst out laughing. They flew around causing mayhem everywhere except where Lily's shield touched. She watched in amusement as everyone other than her, Teddy, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville,(Who was hanging on the chandelier by his robes,) fled the room. Even their oh-so-brave professor fled, after attempting a useless spell. Hermione turned to her in confusion while avoiding the pixies,

"How come they can't get near you two?" Lily shrugged,

"Shield charm," Hermione looked impressed and nodded, before pulling out her wand and immobilizing the pixies. They all stared around the classroom in dismay, it was in complete tatters. Lily sighed before pulling her wand out of her brown leather combat boot, (she didn't like the dress code,) and muttering a spell. She only said the spell aloud so they other four wouldn't question how she knew such advanced magic. She watched as the classroom put itself back together. Everyone other than Teddy looked at her with their jaws dropped before Hermione said,

"That's really advanced magic! So was your shield charm, you must be a seriously powerful witch!" Lily nodded awkwardly, feeling sad when Hermione said 'seriously' it reminded her of her father, who she had decided to refer to as 'Dadfoot,' which was a mix between Padfoot and Dad. Lily was frozen, and before she knew it, silent tears were streaming down her face. She felt Teddy push at her mental barriers and she let him in immediately. He made a noise of understanding before quickly packing up both of their things and pulling her through the school to the room of requirement. He pulled her over to a couch, and she cried into his shoulder. She missed her dad, her dadfoot. She didn't want him to be in Azkaban! She wanted him to be free, she wanted that stupid rat to pay for what he did. She wanted her dadfoot back.

Lily cried in Teddy's arms for nearly three hours, before she tried her tears and put on a brave face. They walked back to the common room in a comfortable silence, and Lily mentally swore never to cry again.
