Lily and Teddy had developed a pattern. They would prank at least four times a week, they would attend classes as normally as they always did, (Always late,) then they would work on their apparating at night. Lily kept exchanging letters with both Charlie and Krummy, who she truly enjoyed talking to. Lily and Teddy also went to the shrieking shack for any full moons. Lily had grown accustomed to his cries of pain when his bones were rearranging themselves, but it didn't mean that she would ever enjoy it or anything.

Lily also continued having quidditch practices, despite how horrible the weather had been. Hallowe'en was fast approaching, and Lily was looking forward to the feast. She was sick of being covered in mud all the time from quidditch and was growing bored with more things than just that. She and Teddy could both successfully apparate now and were incredibly pleased with their success. Lily had gone back to both Romania and Durmstrang to visit her newest friends. She had brought Teddy with the last couple of times too, and he seemed to get along well with both of them, though he didn't have her dragon taming skills.

On Hallowe'en, Lily was just about to go to the feast, when she and Teddy were stoppped by Dumbleduck whose face was grave. Lily's smile immediately dropped.

"Miss Black, I need a word with you in my office, it's probably best if Mr. Walters joins us as well."

"Of course Headmaster." Lily was worried, this didn't seem like the good kind of meeting. They reached Dumbleduck's office and he gestured to the chairs in front of his desk while he sat behind it.

"Lily, I'm sorry to inform you of this, but your adoptive parents were both found dead in their home earlier today. We believe it to have been the work of dark witches and wizards. I am sorry to say that we don't have any idea who exactly did it." Lily stared at him blankly. Her parents, dead? Not possible, she had already lost too many people. She didn't cry, she had sworn not to, she just stared at the Headmaster blankly, her mind repeating the word over and over again,

Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead.

She couldn't believe it, why did it have to be them? Why did they have to be gone? Why? She looked over at Teddy, he had tears streaming down his face, they had become like a second family to him over the summer. They both stood up at the same time and in an emotionless voice, Lily said,

"Thank you for telling us. We'll be going now." Teddy put his arm around her, and they both walked out of the office, completely ignoring the feast, as they went straight back to the Gryffindor common room. Lily's face betrayed nothing of her emotions, it was just blank. Her eyes on the other hand showed just how much pain she was in, she didn't want to keep losing people she loved.

She sat down on the couch in the common room, and leaned into Teddy's side as they both stared at the fire.

Hours that felt like seconds later, the portrait hole opened and the rest of the Gryffindors poured in, talking about something that must have happened. A little while later, Harry, Ron, and Hermione came through the hole looking worried. They saw the pair by the fire and hurried over to talk to them. They stopped short however, when they caught sight of their faces. Teddy was crying, and Lily just looked blank, except for her eyes.

Hermione was immediately worried, and she knelt down in front of them.

"What happened?" she asked gently. Lily turned to look at her with those horrible eyes, just looking at them made Hermione want to cry. In her blank voice she said,

"They're dead." Hermione's eyes widened,

"Who?" Lily didn't answer, so she turned to Teddy who looked at her sadly,

"Her parents, her adoptive parents. They were murdered." Hermione gasped, drawing the attention of the other Gryffindors nearest to them, who blanched at the sight of Lily's eyes. A few people asked what happened. Lily stood up and looked down at Teddy,

"I'm going to Romania. If I'm not back in two weeks, come get me." Teddy nodded sadly, knowing that she needed to go. Hermione gaped at the girl as she marched out of the common room. Romania?

Lily walked briskly to the room of requirment, and opened the door. She turned on her heel and appeared in front of her favortie dragon, the female one that she met her first time in Romania. She immediately sensed Lily's sadness, and wrapped her wings around her, almost like she was giving her a hug. Lily stayed like that for multiple hours before Charlie found her.

"Lily? What are you doing here? Are you okay?" Lily didn't respond, and her dragon, sensing she would need Charlie, opened her wings, allowing Charlie to approach her. He saw her face and immediately knew something was wrong. He scooped her up and brought her back to his house, where he laid her on his couch.

He sat down in the chair opposite her and gently asked,

"Lily? Could you tell me what happened?" Lily nodded slowly,

"My parents," her voice cracked, "They were murdered." Teddy nodded in understanding and sat down next to the young girl on the couch. He pulled her into a hug, which she gladly accepted.

"Charlie? Is it okay if I stay here for a week or two?" Charlie immediately agreed, and brought her to his guest room. She laid on the bed, thinking about her parents, and how much she missed them. She knew that the full moon had only been a few days ago, allowing her to stay for however long she needed.

With that thought in mind, Lily closed her eyes, drifting off into a deep sleep, dreaming about her parents and how much she missed them already.
