My eyelids opened slowly and I realized I was facing the ceiling. My blurry vision cleared and I looked to my right to see Finn, asleep with her back to my bedside. She was still in her dress.

"Hey, What happened?" I asked and sat up. Finn woke up with a jolt and spun around to press her hand against my chest and lay me back down on the bed.

"You were attacked by a Lamia. She struck you and you must have passed out. I healed the worst of your wounds but you should still rest."

"How did you get away?" My voice croaked, mostly from the feeling of her hand on my chest but also the fact that my whole body hurt like hell.

"The pipe, it was amazing Leo, really! I played it and it was like the Lamia just... disappeared." Finn made a "poof" with her hands and sat on my bedside. "Thank you."

"Sounds like I should be thanking you." I laughed and coughed a bit.

I looked down and saw some bandages wrapped around my torso, some on my arms.

"Oh, sorry about those. I'm a little fatigued from tonight... It's also like two a.m." Finn put her hand on the bandage around my torso and I felt her hand become warmer.

There was a content smile on her face, but I could feel the tension. She had something to tell me, but I wanted to get it out first. "Finn I -"

She cut me off immediately and I felt cold. "I know what you're going to say, but I need you to understand something first." She took a breath and I felt the warmth in her hand come back. "No one but my sister has ever cared for me the way you do. But, when I'm with you, I become distracted, confused, vulnerable. And I know it's dangerous, but for some reason, I don't care."

My mind was racing and I couldn't think of anything else to do. The blood was rushing to my ears and I could hear anything she was saying. I sat up and kissed her. I put my hand on her shoulder and began to pull away, but Finn pulled me back in and let her lips touch mine gently. I let my mind race and I followed my impulses. Suddenly, a soft glow caressed my face. I stopped and pulled away, opening my eyes. Finn did the same, revealing her bright green irises. And in the darkness, I understood.

Finn's hair began to glow.
