san knocked on seonghwa's door two times and when he was about to knock the third time, a cranky seonghwa opened the door, annoyance clearly written on his face.

"what the fuck are you doing here?" seonghwa's hair looked messy and his clothes looked like he just threw them on last second. san cringed at the sight and let himself in, "hongjoong! it's san!"

seonghwa slapped san on the back and told him to shut up. "why are you here?"

san sat on the sofa and put his two arms behind his head, "long story. i'll be here for the night, though."

seonghwa crossed his arms in front of his chest as a strawberry haired boy came down the stairs and kissed seonghwa's temple.

"it's about wooyoung, isn't it?" hongjoong asked the youngest out of the three of them. san looked back at the short boy and immediately looked upfront. hongjoong was wearing seonghwa's uniform shirt, which reached his knees, and san was just embarrassed to see hongjoong like that.

"how did you know?" san asked quietly. hongjoong smiled to himself as seonghwa scoffed, resulting hongjoong slapping his arm.

"you're always admiring wooyoung in a beautiful way that i rarely see people admire others in. you're always smiling despite him just doing absolutely nothing. now you look drained and lifeless. so i'm assuming the reason for you to live is gone, aka wooyoung is gone." hongjoong explained. the two males in the room had their mouths open wide in awe of how accurate hongjoong is. well, seonghwa doesn't know, but he's just surprised by how sophisticated hongjoong sounds.

"look, san. whatever happened, you know you can always tell us. i know seonghwa has been nothing but a bitch to both you and wooyoung—"

"hey!"

"so you can always tell me anything that happened. you know i'm always here to support you." hongjoong smiled softly at san and kneed seonghwa. seonghwa whimpered and was about to show him who's in charge before hongjoong glared at him, telling him to just focus on san for now.

seonghwa sighed and turned to san, "joongie's right. we're here for you, san. and i apologise for being a bitch. but i still care about you a lot, san. so please, tell us what's on your mind."

san looked behind his shoulder to check seonghwa's face for sarcasm, but he only found genuine feelings and care seonghwa has for san. san sighed, "sit down. like i said, it's a long story."

san started to talk about his dad and what happened today after school. seonghwa already knew about his dad, but hongjoong didn't. hongjoong felt so sorry for san, but san just kept a straight face and continued the story.

near the end, hongjoong was 100% into the events and seonghwa was on his phone. hongjoong had to slap the device out of seonghwa's hand multiple times just to have the older to pick it up and start scrolling again.

"and then i came here, seeking for shelter." san finished his little story. hongjoong was so into the story he didn't want it to end.

"joongie, it's not a fantasy story. it's san's life, don't get so sucked into it." seonghwa said, wrapping his arms around hongjoong's waist. hongjoong leaned into seonghwa's touch and muttered things like "i know" and "but it's like a fanfiction!". san stared into their exposed wrist, where their soulmate tattoo was.

he wondered what was on wooyoung's wrist. did he meet his soulmate already? does he even have a tattoo? what if it was something, perhaps, yeosang said? san hated the idea of wooyoung being close to someone else, yet wooyoung will always be closer to someone else than he is to san.

"san? were you even listening?" hongjoong asked as he waved his hand in front of san's face. san snapped out of his mini trance and shook his head truthfully. hongjoong sighed and seonghwa looked like he was about to punch san in the face. but luckily, cuddling hongjoong was preventing him from doing so.
