Chapter 25:'There's Alot You Don't Know...'

I woke the next morning feeling proud that Chrissy was still asleep. Finally I won! My excitement quickly faded when I saw the time on my phone, it was 10 am!! The house felt empty and still, which is quite unusual at that hour of the day. I slowly got up from my bed leaving Chrissy who slept like a lifeless animal. Quietly locking my bedroom door and tip toeing towards the kitchen. No breakfast!! That clearly meant my step mom was still asleep. I looked out to the garage to reveal my dad's car was still there. My god, are these people dead!

I fixed myself a bowl of cereal, heading to the swinger in my backyard, and that's when Scarlette startled me with her image at the back door I unlocked.

"Oh my god! You scared the crap out of me!" I exclaimed

She chuckled. "Sorry?"

"I thought no one was up.." I added still trying to calm myself down from the sudden increase rate my heart beated.

"Um, I first woke. Was at the backyard, came to grab myself a snack." She explained softly.

"Cool, I'll wait for you at the swing." I replied with a smile as I walked gently towards my backyard.

"Great, see you there in a minute." She shouted.

I sat there enjoying the cool breeze and still atmosphere when Scarlette abruptly startled me once more.

"I'm back!" She exclaimed knowing very well I wasn't expecting her so fast.

"Oh my god! You might gave me heart attack one day if you continue creeping up on me like that.." I said beneath breaths.

She just chuckled, then laugh even louder when I gave her the 'I mean it!' look.

"Had fun last night?" I asked.

"Yep. Was preddy much okay" she assured me.

"Oh, so um. I saw how mad you were at James in the kitchen earlier, is everything okay?" I asked then gritted my teeth, wasn't sure it's any of my business to ask. Or is it?

"Um, okay then I think I should just tell you-.." she said looking over at me.

Me anticipating something ugly, I stared attentively at her.

"Can you remember I told you about my first boyfriend that cheated on me?" She said slowly.

"Yess-ss?" I replied with uncertainty.

"Well, that idiot was James!"

I looked her with my eyes popping. I can't believe my ears! I was crushing on my step sister's boyfriend all these years! And now my Bestfriend is dating her ex! Damn James, you have it lock! I thought to myself.

"Woa! I had no idea." I said honestly.

"Yes, we kept our relationship a secret. Maybe that's why it was so easy for him to cheat on me."

"And at the kitchen early this morning-..?" I inquired

"Oh about that. He came apologizing after what I said at the spin the bottle game. Saying he wish he could turn back the clock and make things right. Of course I refused. I'm way over that jerk. Honestly I feel sorry for your Bestfriend..." she said in concern.

I just stayed quiet and allow my mind to process things.

"You know he was the first guy I ever actually loved? The guy I gave my virginity to because I thought he was the one. Of course I was wrong. I clearly regret it and wish I hadn't been so vlaunerable." She said with regret.

And that made me fall deep in thoughts. Did I make a mistake by having sex with Tyler? Will he leave me later? Does Tyler actually loves me or is this all a game? I questioned myself.

"Are you okay?" Asked Scarlett in concern.

"Yeah I'm fine-... you know what actually I'm not." I confessed.

"What's wrong?" She asked, her eyes wild with care.

"I'm just worried that Tyler may be using me. And if I made a mistake by having sex with him." I said in tears.

"Wait what! You guys had sex?! How was it?" Surprised by her change in emotions within seconds

"Yeah. Last month at the cabin. It was great." I replied with honesty.

"Damn.. I'm happy for the two of you. And if you may know. Tyler is totally into you. I'm 100% sure on that. " She assured me

That made me smile.

Breaking the sudden silence among us I asked, "so um. I was wondering what plans you have for tomorrow since it's Sunday."

"Uh, nothing much. Probably will do some sketches or maybe paint."

Since when did the goddess Scarlett sketch or paint! Wow, there's alot you don't know about people living in your own home.

"I had no idea you painted or sketch." I said to her astonished.

She chuckled, "I told you there's alot you don't know about me."

"Well maybe I can get to know you better if you go get burgers with me tomorrow." I said like a child.

She smiled. "Sure! And what about some more ice cream?" She added anxiously to increase my jolliness.

"Yes!" I exclaimed

"Great, but you have to promise not to drop any on me again." She chuckled

"Oh my god I'm so sorry about that." I said quickly with meaning.

She chuckled once more and hooked my right hand. "It's okay crazy!" She assured me.
