Chapter 29: 'Heartbreak'

It has been a week since I found out I'm pregnant. The only person that knows about this is Scarlett. Being pregnant and attending school is one of the most horrible situation to be in, so that first week of school has been hectic. Tyler sensed that something was bothering me yesterday after class, but I convinced him it's just that miss Chrissy.

Last week Tyler, Scarlett and myself were invited to his cousin's birth night party which is a few villages away from my neighborhood and is scheduled for tonight. His cousin is like a brother to him so missing his birthday would be very unkind. Of course I didn't want to go, so I demanded they go without me.

"Baby did you change your mind about the party?" Tyler inquired in hope while his hands wrapped around my neck as we exit the school's compound.

"Nope! Honey you know I can't bring myself to attend another party." It was partially true, I still hate parties from that night, but the main reason I don't want to go is due to the fact I'm pregnant!
I promised myself to tell Tyler this Saturday on our next trip to the cabin, which is actually tomorrow. Damn I have second thoughts about this, but he has to know.

"Okay baby. I'm sorry I asked. I'll just really miss you." He kissed my forehead before walking over to the drivers seat.

Since this new term began, I let Tyler drive me to school.

"Bye babe, see you in the morning." He said, forcing a smile after pecking my lips.

It's now 7 pm and I'm lying on my belly with my feet in a 90° position in the air reading a book on wattpad.

"You sure you don't want to go?"

So concentrated I was in what I read that I was unaware of Scarlett's entrance, and of course, was startled by it.

"Oh god when will you stop doing that?!" I groaned

"Doing what?" She chuckled "How can you not hear me enter?"

"Ughh, and no. I'm not going! Just get out. Have fun!" I mumbled then smiled.

She chuckled and bury my face in my pillow. "Take care of my little niece, okay."

I smiled, "it's a boy!"

"No its not!" She argued while leaving, making me laugh.

I resumed reading until 11 pm. As I exited wattpad and about to get myself some peaceful sleep, my phone rang.

"Hey is everything okay?" I answered not giving her a chance to speak.

"No. I can't find Tyler and I'm alittle tipsy from a few drinks. My head hurts can you please come pick me up?" Scarlett groaned.

"What you mean you can't find him? Anyway I'm on my way." And with that I ended the call.

As I parked my car and entered the party I felt my skin prickled with fear. Shit! I forgot my phone at home. How the hell am I going to find Scarlett among all these people. I scanned the hall way until my eyes fixed firm on two people. It was Tyler on a couch and Aliyah sitting on his crotch with her lips pressed tightly on his. At that point my world came crashing down. I could hear my heartbeat in my ear and my feet felt as if it could no longer uphold my weight. In my stomach, an intense sting dug deep and a sudden wave of coldness swept through my entire body which froze my heart. My fingers trembled as if it came in contact with electricity and so did my entire body. Tears falling from my eyes faster than it ever did as I bit my bottom lip to stop my self from crying out loud. How could he? I turned and walked swiftly towards my car when I heard him yell and chasing after me.

"Kate wait! It's not what you think!"

"Kate! Stop!"

"Kateee!"

I ignored him and started the car engine, turned my car so fast that I almost hit him. My tires screeched as I drove off.

While driving I felt a slight cramp in my tummy through my numbed skin. Even my baby knew mommy was sad. My heart beat increased and so did the rate I'm driving it. Tears blurred my vision that I didn't see the truck in front of me and all I could feel at this point is blood ozeing from my back and a severe pain in my head. I layed there upside down and bearly managed to perceive the clock in my car that striked 12 and that was the last thing I saw, the last air I breath, the last thought in my head, midnight left me scars.
