Bad Reputation

Ch. 10

We sat down in our regular seats. We sit in the middle of this class. The smart kids all sit at the front and the annoying ones who don't do anything sit at the back. We hide in the middle. Which means we never get asked to answer questions. Thankfully. But today was different. Chris's ex girlfriend sat behind us, whereas she'd normally sit on the other side. Her and her 2 bitchy friends sat behind us. I looked at Heidi confused and she shrugged her shoulders. We didn't talk for the whole lesson. The girls would constantly gossip. I wrote on my notepad to communicate with Heidi.

You - Oi, why do you think they sat there?
Heidi - Who knows. Hopefully it doesn't become a regular thing
You - Hopefully. You listening to them?
Heidi - Yeah are you?
You - Yeah I am
Heidi - Good to see I'm not the only one being nosey haha

So we sat listening to them. But one topic specifically I listened too. Chris's ex girlfriend name is Stephanie (A/n I'm just making it up. Calm down) and her friend's are Megan and Taylor.

M- "so how was the party?"
T- "amazing. I can't believe you didn't come with us"
M- "well we weren't invited"
S- "and? It was Chris's party. What do you think people would say if I didn't go? Besides he wanted me there"
M- "how do you know?"
T- "because they slept together"
M- "wait seriously?"
S- "yes. I've got my boy back"

I didn't move. I felt Heidi look at me and then write on my book.

Heidi - You okay?
You - Fine. Why wouldn't I be?
Heidi - Just checking x
You - I'm going to the bathroom

I stood up and asked the teacher if I could leave. He said yes and I left the room. I texted Heidi that I wasn't coming back to class and she said she'd bring my stuff to me at the end of the period. Chris slept with his ex? Could she be telling the truth? It's hard to think that he wouldn't do it. I mean have you seen his reputation? I heard the bell ring and Heidi came into the bathroom.

H- "hey you okay? I'm sure it's not true. She's probably just jealous he wants you"
Y/n- "but you can't blame me for thinking it could happen"
H- "no I don't. But it seems like this has affected you alot. Do you like him?"

I rolled my eyes.

Y/n- "ugh, I'm going home. I texted Jessie to come and get me. Sorry"
H- "that's fine. I forgot to tell you I'm going to Tyler's today"
Y/n- "okay. Well thanks for bringing my stuff"
H- "text me later okay?"

I nodded and smiled. She pulled me into a hug before leaving. I walked up to the office and found my brother. He had already signed me out so we just walked straight to his car. I got a notification and read the message.

C- hey love, you
okay? Heidi told
me you left?

I didn't reply. I just left him on read. I just needed some space.
