Bad Reputation

Ch. 32

Prom. It was beautiful. The colour theme was light blue and white. It was in our school hall. The first thing we did when we got there was dance. Chris and I swayed together for a while. Then our principal was on the stage. We both turned our attention towards him.

P- "I know you guys are enjoying your night but it's that time of the night. Where we announce prom king and queen"

He said pulling out an envelope.

P- "your prom queen is...."

He paused for suspension. Everyone eager to hear who it was. Although we all weren't surprised by the winner.

P- "stephanie"

I rolled my eyes and scoffed as she made her way to the stage. Acting shocked. As if she didn't rig the vote. Because we all know she probably did.

Y/n- "of course"
C- "it's okay love. You don't need a crown to be a queen. You're my queen"

I looked at Chris and smiled. Feeling my cheeks heat up. He wrapped his arm around me and I put my head on his shoulder.

P- "and now for prom king"

He opened the envelope slowly. Giving of the suspension. And out of all the people in the school, there was 1 name I didn't want him to read out ...

P- "Chris Williams!"

And there it is. I lifted my head. Feeling everything inside me sink into sadness.

P- "Chris? Where are you?"

I looked beside me. Chris didn't move. The spotlight fell on him and I moved aside out of it. Stephanie was gesturing for him to get on stage. Even yelling for him too. But he wouldn't.

Y/n- "well are you going to go get the crown?"
C- "nah, I'd rather have the girl"

He said as he stepped closer to me. Wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling my body against his. And then within one gesture of that kissed me deeply. Passionately. That's when I knew. This boy was mine. My arms snaked around his neck. Once we stopped kissing. We looked into each other's eyes.

C- "you wanna go home?"
Y/n- "I'll go anywhere with you"

With that. Chris smiled and we left the prom and as everyone telling a fairytale love story would say. We lived happily ever after. The End.
