At lunch, Heidi and I went to sit down at our usual table. I pack Heidi and I a homemade salad each for lunch. The cafeteria food is not the greatest and Heidi loves my food so I make us both stuff to bring from home. Or my mum makes it if I don't have time in the morning. We began eating and talking when I heard Chris making his way over to our table. Him and his group of friends sat down with us. He sat beside me. His back facing the table, legs blocking the walkway. Arms up so he could lean back on the table.

C- "hey gorgeous. How are you?"
Y/n- "what do you want Chris?"
C- "isn't it obvious? You're the one girl in school whose repulsed by me? Who isn't chasing me. I want you"
Y/n- "well I don't want you. Isn't that obvious?"

I said mockingly.

B- "ooooo"
Ty- "snap"
Tr- "a queen"
Y/n- "you and your little group can leave now"
C- "alright play hard to get. I'll make you fall in love with me someday"

Chrie smirked at me before getting up and walking away. I rolled my eyes as I looked up at Heidi.

H- "so?"
Y/n- "so?"
H- "why don't you want to date him? I mean I would"
Y/n- "be my guest. He's that typical player. Only wants girls for one thing and then throws them away when he's had enough and moves on. I'm not about to be his next candidate in his long line of partners"
H- "I see your point. But he's hot. Just admit that he's hot and I'll shut up for about 5 minutes"
Y/n- "fine he's hot. Now can we change the subject please?"
H- "okay"

The bell rang and it was time for our next class. We got up and went to maths. I sat up the back with Heidi. We have almost every class together. I started doing the equation on the board when I heard, that same, extremely familiar voice walk into the classroom.

C- "sorry I'm late sir. I wasn't aware they changed my classes around"

The teacher turned around and glared at the boy standing in the doorway. I looked up and glared at him too.

T- "I'll let you off this time Mr Williams. Next time it's detention. Now go and-"

He paused. Scanning the room.
T- "go and sit next to y/n.
Hopefully she can teach you some manners"
C- "yes sir"

He smiled, looking at me.

Y/n- "ugh"

I said out loud before putting my head down on my desk.

C- "hey beautiful"

I lifted my head from the desk and turned my head towards Chris. Who was sitting on my right side.

Y/n- "alright. If this is going to be a constant thing. Can you at least not compliment me everytime you see me?"
C- "I mean- if you want. I was just try-"
Y/n- "thank you. Now shush and answer the question"

I heard Heidi giggle beside me.
A few moments went by. Chris was quiet. I'd finished the question when I realised Chris hadn't even started.

Y/n- "do you need help?"
C- "um yes. I didn't want to bother you though"
Y/n- "it's fine. Here"

I helped him through the equation step by step. He sat and listened to everything I had to say, he only spoke once and that was when he said he didn't understand a step. After class finish, I walked out with Heidi. After we were out of Chris's ear shot, you guessed it. Heidi started talking about him again.

H- "he was very nice in class. Don't you think?"
Y/n- "I guess so"
H- "maybe he's better than you think. Maybe his reputation just exceeds him"
Y/n- "I wouldn't go that far"

I laughed as we walked to class.
