Bad Reputation

Ch. 20

(Chris's pov)
B- "alright. Enough waiting around. You, me and the boys are going out tonight. If she wanted to see you, she would've called you by now. Or at least texted"
C- "she's a complicated girl, but that's what I like about her. She's different"
B- "she's not here. I am. Come on, I want to hang out with my little brother"
C- "fine. What do you have in mind?"
B- "we're going to a party"

(Y/ns pov)
It's been a month into summer break. Heidi and I had been busy on our road trip we had planned. We just got home, it's 10pm. All I could think about was Chris. I don't know why, or what reason I had to call him. But I did. I didn't know whether I'd get an answer or not. Honestly I wasn't expecting too. The phone rang 6 times. I counted as each one went by. But someone answered.

~ phone call ~
Y/n- "hey"
?- "this is Chris's phone?"

Only it wasn't Chris that answered. But a female. I didn't recognise the voice. I could hear loud music in the background.

?- "hello are you there?"
Y/n- "um yeah sorry. I dialled the wrong number"
?- "oh okay. Bye!!!"

The random girl hung up the phone. She sounded really perky. I tried not to overthink the situation. I know he said his reputation isn't who he is. That he's only ever slept with 1 person. But I can't help but think the worst of the situation. To ignore it, I went into Jesse's room. He was sitting up against his bed head, playing his PlayStation. I climbed underneath his blankets next to him.

Y/n- "good, you're awake"
J- "you okay?"
Y/n- "just tired"
J- "there's more to it then that"
Y/n- "yeah...I called Chris"
J- "and?"
Y/n- "and a girl answered"
J- "oh. Did you know her?"
Y/n- "I didn't recognise the voice. From the background noise it sounded like he was at a party"
J- "and you think..?"

Jesse didn't want to say it. But I knew what it was he was thinking. Because I was thinking it too.

Y/n- "yeah..."
J- "I'm sure he'll explain"

I closed my eyes.

Y/n- "I'm just gonna sleep here"
J- "okay"

I could tell Jesse turned the volume down on his tv. So it wouldn't disturb me as I slept. After laying there, thinking for a while. I slowly dozed off.
