Nuray came out of her tent the next day. She knew that day was going to change the course of their lives. They will live happily with the Dodurgas from now. The atmosphere of that specific stiffness in which the both tribes were from the very first day was going to lift upon. She was sure that the plan both brothers had made was going to work.
Selcan was getting ready to leave the tribe just as it had been decided yesterday. Nuray had taken the duty of following Aytolun until she will leave the tribe. So that when she will leave, Nuray would inform the brothers. For that purpose she had been roaming in the tribe since afternoon. Sometimes she would go to the training area just to have a glimpse of him. Sungurtekin had been in the training area that day, training with the alps. It was the first time she had seen him in this area, other wise he would spend all his time roaming around the tribe. From inside to outside the marquee. He was much of a diplomatic person rather than a warrior. He would never speak to anyone except that he had some task for the person he was speaking to. People of the marquee were under the influence of his dominating and somehow arrogant personality. Ertugrul aslo had a dominating personality but Sungurtekin's case was different. It had never been a problem for anyone to disscus their matters with Ertugrul but people of the tribe hesitated to tell Sungurtekin their problems. So seeing him in the training area was a sight that you never get everyday. At first, when he arrived there in the midday the alps were not feeling at ease. They hesitated in training with him. Even Sungurtekin himself was a little shy at first but then he got his pace and he trained, he laughed, he smiled with them. He was really enjoying the training.
But now it was different.
Because his brother Ertugrul had also came to the training area. He must have heard that Sungurtekin was there as the Kayis were discussing the event rather excitedly.
"Would you like to spar?" Sungurtekin challenged him, smiling. Ertugrul stared at him with a smirk plastered on his lips.
"You'll lose!" He replied with confidence, looking around at the alps who were confused by that time. Sungurtekin shrugged and gestured him to come forward.
"We'll see!" He said taking out his sword and dagger from their sheaths. This was his style. He always fought with his both hands. Even if he hadn't had his dagger, he would pick up something from the ground nearby.
Ertugrul stood in his place and kept staring at his actions. There was a glint of amusement in his flickering eyes. Then he also took out his sword and stepped into the ring. Nuray stood there staring at Sungurtekin whom she had never seen fight before. Let alone spar with his brother, whom he held so dear to him.
What is going on in his head? She was feeling a different sensation filling her stomach. A mixture of excitement and suspense that what will happen now. Because deep down she knew no matter how much he kept himself away from the training area, he must have been a fierce warrior, giving the amount of years he had spent with the mongols. The one thing that she always wondered was the fact that how could someone be so sensitive, if he had spent almost all his life with the worst kind of fierce warriors.
Sungurtekin and Ertugrul now stood face to face in the ring. They both were waiting for the other to attack first. There was a deep silence in the training area as every alp was watching the upcoming fight of the two brothers. Then with a yell, he attacked. Ertugrul quickly stopped his blow on the sword. Sungurtekin stepped back and threw his dagger away.
"I will injure you with this!" He said and looked around. Then his dark eyes stopped at a small piece of branch. He picked it up and checked its balance by moving his arm. "It will work!" He nodded and turned to Ertugrul. Nuray was standing at some distance behind the alps so he was not able to locate her there.
