Sungurtekin came out of the marquee. He looked around and found Nuray at some distance standing with her back to the marquee. The sun was about to rise. They all had been up all night. His eyes were aching with the lack of sleep. The wound on his left side was also throbing now because of not being able to rest all night. He descended down the stairs and went towards the place where they both had sat in the morning. He came there and sat beneath a tree. Tears of pain immediately came into his eyes as he was able to find some solitude at last.
What had happened? How did it happen? When I thought that I was able to go to my duty at last, the seal was stolen. What kind of game am I in? He placed his head with the trunk of the tree and closed his eyes. He had came here to cry his heart out. He was a human after all. But he didn't get the chance as Nuray came and sat down at some distance.
"Sungurtekin?" She called him slowly. He opened his eyes and looked at her. "Can I sit here with you?" She asked. He didn't answer but closed his eyes back. Nuray sighed and got closer to him. He will not tell her anything if he would not want to. So asking him was not an option. She remained silent. A long time passed. So long that she thought he might have been asleep. Her eyes were also getting closed now. She was trying very hard to not fall asleep here.
"The consignation is stolen." He said. Nuray's eyes snapped open as he stared at her.
"What?" She asked.
"The consignation is stolen." He said again.
"You mean.."
"Yes, from the marquee, from my tent, right under my pillow." He told her. She placed her hands on her mouth.
"Oh God, Sungurtekin! Was it important?" After some time she asked.
"Ofcourse it was important!" He said, annoyed.
"Who would possibly do that?" She asked.
"Someone who can come and go inside the marquee very easily." He said.
"Do you suspect someone?" She asked. Sungurtekin shook his head.
"There are somethings I know, Sungurtekin." She said after some time. Sungurtekin turned to look at her. "I heard Selcan hatun and Halime Sultan talking a few days ago." Sungurtekin was listening intently. "There was an old woman, whose body was found outside the tribe once. Selcan Hatun think that she was killed by Aytolun." She said.
"By whom?" He asked now bewildered.
"Aytolun!" Repeated Nuray.
"Obviously Selcan Hatun must know something. She never says anything without evidence." He nodded.
"That old woman told her a very big truth about Aytolun. When Aytolun got suspicious, she killed her." Nuray said.
"What did she tell her?" Sungurtekin asked.
"I don't know. But Halime Sultan knows." Nuray shook her head.
"Why do you think they did not tell any one? I mean, Ertugrul or Gundogdu?" He asked.
"Gundogdu bey never listens to her. And Ertugrul bey is not in the tribe." Nuray said.
"Nice, they are beys and I am Sungurtekin!" He said standing up.
"Why do you want your title so badly?" Nuray asked also standing up and following him.
"Just call me bey infront of others, alright? Also I want you yo do something for me." He asked.
"What?"
"You are a spy from now on!"
"Are you going to spy on your own sisters?" She asked bewildered.
