Warm hugs
Happy laughter
Calming moments
Just like home should be.
Peaceful but empty
Hollow yet never alone
Nothing there and still you're scared
Just like home can never be.
Warm baked cookies
Rocking chairs that creak
Cheerful music dancing through the air
Small feet running
And giggles coming
Just like home will be.
Bickering and scoffing
Music playing loudly
Movie quoting
Good days, bad days, and all those in between
Just like home is.
