FAYE carried quinn as the group walked through the infested streets of raccoon city. quinn cried softly, nuzzling her head into the crook of faye's neck. faye could feel quinn shiver as the group walked in the cold rain.
"don't worry." faye started with a crack in her voice. "once we get to that truck, we'll be safe. i promise." she whispered, as she trailed behind her relatives.
"we're almost there." her aunt exclaimed, stopping for a moment. "here, let me get her. your arms are probably killing you." without hesitation, faye handed quinn to her mother, causing the five year old to let out a little whine.
"faye, you got your gun. right?" her uncle asked, only to faye to nod. "good." he started, before walking again. "keep it with you at all times. okay?" faye nodded, following her family with underlying fear growing in her as she watched someone on the side walk being eaten by one of those flesh eating monsters.
once the group got to the truck, they were stopped by a soldier. "i'm sorry but this truck's already full." the soldier said, holding his hand out in front of the group.
"a-are you kidding me?" faye's aunt exclaimed. "please, just squeeze us in." she begged. the twenty year old stood behind them with a look of disbelief written on her face.
"we have a five year old!" her uncle exclaimed with a look of anger in his face. "please, just take the girls. i'll find a way out of here." he begged, resulting in the three girls to look at him as if he had two heads.
"uncle tom, i can't let you do that." she scoffed, shaking her head.
"it's the only way you guys are gonna live." tom frowned, causing quinn to sob.
"tom, you can't be serious right now." ruth shook her head as tears fell from her cheeks. "you can't—."
faye watched as the two argued for a bit. all that was heard was bullets ricocheting behind her and quinn's cries. faye took a deep breath, walking up to the soldier.
"sir, please just squeeze them in." faye started with tears rolling down her face. "y-you don't have to take me." she sobbed. "please, just take them. i-i'll find another way out of here." she begged, wiping her tears with the long sleeves of her white sweater.
the soldier stays quiet for a minute before looking at the group. "alright. i'll squeeze you in." he started, opening the back doors of the truck.
the people inside of the truck look over at the commotion happening in front of them. "thank you, sir." ruth thanked, lifting quinn up onto the truck. soon enough tom and ruth get in as well.
"c'mon faye, we got you." tom held his hand out, resulting in the blonde to shake her head.
"there's no more space." she started. "i-i'll find another way out of town. trust me." tom looked at the girl as if she was insane.
"faye! faye!" quinn started sobbing louder as the doors closed on her. faye sobs, watching as the soldier ran to the drivers seat.
"don't worry! i-i'll find a way." she yelled out with a small voice crack. faye sobbed, watching the truck drive away.
"think faye— think!" the blonde looked over at the slightly lit up alley and ran towards it. she lets out a high pitch scream, hearing the snarls coming from the flesh eater behind her.
she runs up the small steps of the alley, only to see the police station ahead of her. "i can make a quick stop at the police station." she muttered, starting to run towards the station.
one of the zombies on the floor reach out and grab her ankle, causing her to fall onto the concrete below her.
"get off! get off!" she screamed, trying her best to move her leg away from its teeth. she fishes in her pocket for her gun, only to realize it was missing.
"shit—." she gasped, feeling blood from the zombie's head splatter onto her leg.
"c'mon, i got you." without hesitating, faye grabs the man's hand and lifts herself up. "this way!" he calls out, causing the soaked blonde to follow him.
she was sure that this was going to be a long night.
the two race into the rpd, locking up the gates behind them. the duo heads into the rpd, trying to regain their stamina.
"are you okay?" the man asked, walking towards the girl. "did you get bit?" he questioned, looking at the girl with his deep blue eyes.
faye stays quiet, looking down at the floor beneath her, playing with the bracelet quinn gave her. the man frowned at her silence, growing a bit awkward as well.
"i'm leon." he introduced, holding his hand out in front of the girl. faye glances at his hand before shaking it.
"i-i'm faye." she introduced in a quiet tone. leon nodded softly, walking towards the laptop that was placed on the main desk.
"did you come here alone?" he asked, turning the computer on. faye shook her head.
"i was supposed to get out of here with my family but we were separated." faye answered, fiddling with her bracelet. she glances at the front desk and grabs the pistol lying on the desk.
"did you come alone?" faye questioned, examining the gun in her hand before placing it in her pocket.
"no." leon started. "i was separated from this girl i met." he answered, frowning at the thought of claire missing. "i just hope she's okay." faye nodded at the man's words.
"i gotta find that guy." leon looks at the computer before walking towards the gate ahead of him. "you coming?" he asked.
faye shook her head. "i'll stay here." she started.
"are you—."
"i can protect myself." fate interrupted. "you go, i'll be okay." leon stares at the girl for a minute before pulling the lever.
"be safe." he said before crawling under the gate. the blonde watched as he disappeared into the dark.
"i'll try." she whispered, taking her gun out as she sat on top of the front desk.
i changed quinn's outfit back to her og blue dress because yes.
also this plot is better than the last plot. sorry 🙈
leon and quinn's relationship will develop in the next few chapters. i can't wait for that.
