DUE the constant exaustion faye was feeling the whole night, she found herself falling asleep with her head on leon's non-injured shoulder. leon's eyes fluttered open, breathing slowly as he studied his surroundings. he looks at his patched up shoulder, grunting in pain as he circled it around slowly. he felt a prescence on his shoulder, turning his head only to see faye on him.
"faye." he whispered, smiling at the sound of her name. she patched him up. it couldn't have been anyone else but her. "faye, wake up." leon spoke in a quiet tone, shaking her a bit. faye's eyes fluttered open, looking around in confusion. she smiled, seeing that leon was awake.
"you're awake." she smiled, pulling leon into a small hug. leon chuckles, hugging the blonde back. "i patched up your shoulder while you were passed out." she started, pulling away from the hug they shared. "ada went after annette— i don't know where she is though." faye finished, fidgeting with her bracelet.
"we'll find her." leon started. "she can't be far." leon got up with a pained look on his face. faye got up as well, dusting the dirt off her dress.
"how's your shoulder?" faye asked, crossing her arms.
"it hurts but i can deal with it." leon responded, giving her a reassuring smile. "you ready to go?" he questioned, glancing at the woman with his dark blue eyes.
faye nodded. "ready." the two made their way towards a lift at the end of the hallway, feeling it ascend as they went up.
"did you see where she went?" leon questioned, taking his gun out.
"she went into this vent and never came back." faye answered, taking her gun out as well. "don't worry, she's in here.. somewhere." it broke her heart a bit whenever leon spoke about ada.
she was sure he had feelings for her. faye knew that she didn't have a chance anymore. it was obvious that leon was into ada and honestly it hurt.
the two make it back towards the shitty water, causing faye to grow sick at the revolting smell. "we're not going in there, right? we're not gonna roam around in shitty water, right?" she asked, looking at the man with her hazel eyes.
leon chuckled at the girl's reaction. "what? you scared?" he teased, causing the girl to crack a small smile on her face.
"actually, yes." faye responded. "i'm not trying to catch a disease." she placed her hands on her hips, glaring at the rookie.
"i'll go first if it makes you happy." he joked. leon jumped in, causing to girl to gag at the sight. "come on, the water's fine!" he called out.
"you're fucking disgusting." she gave leon a disgusting look before preparing to jump in. "i'm gonna burn all of my clothes when i get out of here." she mumbled. faye grabs a scrunchie out from her pocket and ties her hair up.
"any minute now!" faye shot the man an annoyed look before jumping in. she groaned at the feeling of the water soaking on her skin.
leon laughed at the blonde's stance, causing her to shoot an angry glare at him. "ready to—."
"let's just go, please." she interrupted, closing her eyes at the uncomfortable feeling. leon nodded, starting to walk down the sewers with faye.
nothing but the sloshing of water was heard as they made their way down the sewers.
after walking for a bit, the duo make it into this bright room. there was a loud growling noise coming from the outside of the room they were in, causing the couple to look at eachother.
"i don't like the sound of that." leon commented, walking towards the huge window at the end of the room. "come on." he whispered, looking down only to see ada laying in the pile of garbage.
"faye, i see her!" he exclaimed, causing faye to walk over. faye saw the unconscious woman, frowning at the sight of her. although she didn't like ada, she hated seeing her like this.
"any idea on how we get there?" she asked, looking at leon with crossed arms.
"i think it's through that door over there." leon pointed in the direction faye was standing in earlier.
"i was looking at the keys over there and it looks like we're gonna need to find the king and queen key." faye explained, only for leon to sigh in frustration.
"i'm so tired of this puzzle bullshit." he ran a hand through his semi wet brown hair. he then glanced at ada, frowning at the look of her.
the growling increased causing both faye and leon to look at the guarded gate. "we're coming, ada." he stated.
faye grew weary at the look of ada, shaking her head at the sound. they had to get to ada before it was too late. before something bad happened.
after looking through the sewer for about an hour, leon and faye found the two keys they were looking for.
the two put the keys in their rightful places, watching as the door open. "finally." leon sighed in relief, walking out the room with faye.
faye took her gun out, not completely trusting this new open area. leon walked towards the big metal gate pulling the lever down, only for nothing to help it.
"damn, power's out." leon sighed, looking back at the power room behind him. "wait here, okay? this'll be quick." faye nodded, watching as he walked away.
faye waited for about a minute before she heard a loud crash come from the power room. "leon?!" faye runs over to the now flaming room, trying her best to open the door.
"leon!" she moves her hands away from the burning door, watching as she saw leon run through the exit door. she squints her eyes, only to see the monster from earlier following him.
she bit her lip nervously as tears brimmed in her eyes. she couldn't do anything but watch leon run away from the dangerous leon.

sorry for the sucky chapter. i've been having a stressful week already and i've just been so tired. i also had writers block. my grammar was atrocious for this chapter, i'm so sorry.
everything's just "what are you doing for college?" or "do you have that thing for college?" and i'm so fucking stressed.
it just feels like no one really cares about how i feel.
anyways, the next chapter's gonna be pretty juicy. y'all know what scene's coming up 😼
