LEON and faye walked around the rpd for what seemed like hours, feeling lost in it's confused and twisty mazes. the two haven't spoken a word to eachother since faye lashed out on leon. it was bit awkward at the moment.
after using the squared crank to open to the gate, the two made it towards the other side of the raccoon city police department, causing the rookie to sigh in exhaustion.
"the part for the jail cell panel should be in here somewhere." leon spoke up. "i know it." faye just glanced at the man before looking at her surroundings.
leon sighed in frustration, looking at the blonde. "okay, stop." he started. "why are you mad at me? i don't get it." leon shook his head, furrowing his eyebrows at the woman's actions.
faye scoffed, shaking her head at his words. "and who said i was mad at you?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"i'm sorry but have you not been aware on you've been acting?" leon questioned with a look of frustration and anger on his face. "you've been giving me dirty looks and for what? faye, i don't what happened. if i did something let me know, please?" faye frowned at his words, turning around to look at him.
"i'm sorry, leon." she apologized. "i just have a lot going on in my mind right a-and i shouldn't have lashed out on you like that." the blonde frowned, hesitantly touching his shoulder softly.
leon felt a blush creep up on his cheeks feeling her touch his shoulder. "i-if there's anything you w-want me t-to do, let me know." he stuttered with his cheeks turning a bright red.
"okay." she nodded, removing her hand from his shoulder. "there is something you could do for me." leon looks at the girl in confusion, waiting for her to continue to response.
"you see this bracelet?" she asked, showing leon her cousin's charm bracelet.
"yeah?" leon answered, looking at the delicate charms.
"if something happens to me, i want you to find my cousin and give this to her. a-and i want you to tell her that i did the best i can." leon furrowed his eyebrows at her words.
"i'm sorry, what?" leon questioned. "faye, you're not gonna die. we're gonna make it out of here—."
"just do that for me, okay?" faye asked, looking at the rookie. "please?" she begged, looking at leon with her teary hazel eyes.
leon stays quiet before nodding at her words. "alright." he replied. "i'll do it." faye smiled at his words, pulling him into a tight hug. leon hesitated for a bit before embracing the girl back.
after staying there for a while, leon pulls a way, taking his weapon out again. "come on. let's get out of here." faye nodded, following the rookie up the wooden steps.
"where are we headed, exactly?" faye questioned, following leon out into the rainy weather outside.
"honestly, no idea." he responded. faye's anxiety grew tremendously as she followed him to the semi broken ladder.
"i'll go first." leon stated. "i wouldn't want you getting hurt." he teased playfully, resulting in a scoff to come out of the girl's throat.
"are you implying that i'm fragile?" faye questioned with a playful smile on her face.
"if the shoe fits." he responded, causing the girl to roll her eyes at his foolish accusations.
"watch and learn." faye climbs down the ladder slowly, hearing it's weary creaks. the blonde hops off, smirking at leon playfully. "alright super leon, it's your turn!" she called out, resulting in a small chuckle to come out from his mouth.
"super leon?" he asked with a playful grin plastered on his face.
"i mean, since you think you're a superhero—."
"okay, okay. i get it." he laughed. "i'm coming." leon started climbing down the ladder, only for it to make a loud creeky noise. the ladder breaks, resulting in leon to fall onto the floor with a loud thud.
"leon!" faye kneels down, helping leon up slowly. "are you okay?" she asked, lifting him up as he groaned out in pain.
"i'm fine— just not as strong as i thought i was." faye rolled her eyes at his snarky comment, walking towards the big yellow switch implemented on the wall.
"there has to be a way to put this fire out." she said. "maybe if i pull this—." the blonde pulls the lever, squealing once she felt the cold water from the pipes soak her body.
leon laughed at the girl, moved away with a scowl on her face. "i was gonna say maybe we should check if there's a switch for this thing downstairs but this completely made this whole situation better." he laughed, resulting in the blonde to shoot him a sarcastic smile.
"next time, you're doing it." she huffed, tucking a piece of her wet hair behind her ear. leon couldn't help but stare at her. he didn't know if it was the wet hair or just her, but he knew that he was in fact having feelings for her. was it love? no. could it be love? time will tell.
faye blushed softly, feeling his stare on her. "i-is there something wrong?" she asked in a soft voice. "why are you looking at me like that?" she played with her bracelet, feeling her cheeks heat up at his stare.
"you're beautiful." leon blurted out, resulting in faye's cheeks to turn a darker shade of red. "i-i mean, i'm gonna go change the direction of the water. just stay here okay?" faye nodded, watching him walk away.
she bit her lip softly, doing her victory dance mentally. she didn't wanna act like a foolish teenager again but she was sure that leon had feelings for her.
a few minutes later, leon came back with a smug smile on his face. "look what i found." he reaches into one of his hip pouches, showing her the last key they needed.
"the club key." she smiled, bouncing on her toes. "we could use this for the doors that were locked." faye inquired, only for leon to put the key back into his pouch.
"c'mon, let's get out of here." leon pulls the switch, watching as the fire was extinguished. the two walk back into the dry building, smiling at their previous conversation. they felt as if everything was right at the moment.
the two turn the corner, only to stop once they saw the helicopter in front of them be lifted up by a large man in a black trench coat.
'yup. we're dead.'
