TRUST ME,
CHAPTER THREEFAYE rocked on the balls of her feet, waiting for the gate to open. her stomach was hurting from the amount of nerves she was feeling. going through this dark place was gonna be a challenge for the two, hence the fact that they didn't know what other creatures were lurking in this police station.
once the gate opened, the duo walked to the door at the end of the room. leon pauses in front of the door for a minute. "you got your gun?" he asked, grabbing the doorknob.
"yes." she answered, taking her gun out of her pocket. "let's go."leon opened the door slowly, only to reveal a dark and eerie hallway.
there was a police officer at the end of the hall. presumed by the way he was against the wall, faye was pretty sure that he was dead.
"this is 73 bird— for rescue." a small radio (that was on the slouched police officer), echoed through the halls.
"hmm." leon kneels down to look at the man. faye kept her hazel eyes on the dead man, holding her gun up. she had to be ready just in case the man tried to attack her or leon.
"i got your back." the blonde spoke up, gripping her gun tightly. leon couldn't help but crack a small smile.
he takes a deep breath before lifting the person's face up. the police officer's jaw was cut in half and his flesh was showing. his jaw practically looked like taffy.
"oh." leon gags, looking at the revolting sight. "oh, what the fuck?!" he cursed, dropping the man's face.
faye gags, turning away from the body. she coughs, letting out the chunky fluid that was once her stomach, exit her body. leon stands up, slightly shaking from the sight.
"faye, you okay?" leon questioned, hesitantly placing a hand on her back. faye nodded softly, wiping her mouth with her right hand.
"let's keep moving." faye rasps, wiping her hand on her dress. she stands up straight, continuing to walk through the dark hall with leon.
the two winced, hearing the zombies from the outside bang on the windows. "through here." leon said, opening the double red doors.
"sit down for a minute. you look—."
"we can keep going." she interrupted. "i don't wanna waste any time." faye frowned, starting to walk around the room.
"alrighty then." leon nodded awkwardly, searching the room for any supplies. faye looked around the room, finding a weapon's belt. she puts it around her waist, placing her gun into the holster.
"any luck finding a way out of here?" leon asked, looking at the blonde.
faye shook her head. "the door's chained up." she started. "unless we have a bolt cutter, we're not going anywhere." she explained, causing the man to suck his teeth.
"shit." leon sighs, placing his hands on his hips. faye's eyes scan the room, hoping that she'd find a way out.
"i found something." faye spoke up, walking over a big wooden crate at the left side of the room. "maybe we could get through here." faye grabs the ledge of the window, lifting herself up.
"be careful, okay?" leon warned with a look of concern written all over his face.
faye pauses for a minute, nodding at his comment. "don't worry, i will." she jumps over to the other side, quickly taking her gun out.
leon pulls himself up, climbing over to the other side. before he could open his mouth to say anything, faye fired her gun at the zombie, resulting in it to fall to the floor with a loud thud.
"sorry. i just wasn't safe with it being—."
"n-no." leon stuttered, shaking his head at faye. "you did good— you did really good." he complimented, growing a bit flustered.
faye smiles shyly, walking down the hall. "the dark room is this way, right?" she asked, pointing in the direction they were walking in.
"yeah." leon nodded. "how do you know that?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow at the blonde.
"when i was younger my dad used to come here a lot— for work purposes." she started. "i used to come here with him all the time. i'd usually find myself wandering into the dark room, talking to some of the employees that worked here." faye smiled softly at the memory, revisiting her happy life. sadly, that was all a distant memory.
the two walk through the door of the dark room. leon closes the door behind him, starting to search through the lockers for any supplies.
faye looked around the room, examining some of the pictures that were on the walls. "hey faye?" faye looks over at leon, raising an eyebrow.
"yeah?" she responded, leaning against the wall.
"why don't you like you to talk about your father?" he questioned, only for faye to frown deeply.
"it's because—." she sighs, shaking her head at the thought. "it's stupid." she frowned, looking down at her dirty white converses.
"you don't have to tell me." leon walked over to the blonde, leaning against the metal table behind him. "i just figured since we're getting out of here together, i should know a little bit about your past." he shrugged.
"you don't really mean that." she scoffed, crossing her arms at his words. no one was really interested in what she had to say. what makes him any different?
"i do." leon looked at the blonde with his deep blue eyes. "please, tell me?" faye stays quiet for a minute before shrugging her shoulders.
"not now." the blonde answered, walking towards the door. "let's just go." faye said with a cold tone.
leon was taken aback from what just happened, however, he couldn't blame her. he was the one forcing her to talk about it sensitive subject. "look, faye. i'm sorry—."
"i-it's fine." faye interrupted, opening the door. leon followed the woman out, mentally cursing himself.
'nice going leon.'
