THE TRUTH,
CHAPTER FOURFAYE followed leon up the dark, blood ridden stairs thinking about their previous conversation in the dark room. was she being too harsh? since they were going to be stuck together for a while, it would be best to let out what she was feeling to leon. the two shot the two zombies that were guarding the stairs and made it towards the locker room.
the two enter the room with their guards up. "we're in the clear, don't worry." leon reassured, closing the door behind the two. faye stays quiet for a minute, watching leon look throw lockers.
"i was pregnant." she spoke up, causing leon to look over at the girl in confusion. "i was at a party and some guy i liked took advantage of me." she voice hitched, thinking about the memory. "i told him i was pregnant and he just started avoiding me. so i tried my best to keep it a secret." leon leaned against one of the lockers, listening to the girl's story.
her breath hitched before continuing. "my mom found my pregnancy test in the garbage and she told my dad." she continued. "so, they made me get an abortion and then they kicked me out of the house." tears started to fall down her cheeks, thinking about the memory. "my mom's sister took me in and started caring for me after that. i haven't seen my parents in four years." she finished, wiping her tears with her sweater sleeve.
leon frowns, looking down awkwardly. "faye, i'm so sorry." he spoke up, looking at the blonde with sincere eyes. "i didn't mean to bring back bad memories." he apologized, placing his hands on his hips.
faye shook her head, looking away from the rookie. "n-no, it's fine." she shrugs. "it felt good telling someone about it." she admitted with a sniff.
leon wanted to just walk over and hug her. he wanted to just tell her that everything was gonna be okay. however, he didn't want to seem too overbearing.
"thank you, faye. for telling—." he was interrupted by faye wrapping her arms around him. butterflies scattered all around his stomach, causing him to blush deeply. without hesitation, he hugs faye back, placing his chin on her head.
"we should get going." she sniffed, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. "we gotta find the wheel thingy to this." leon chuckles at her words.
"what?" faye raises an eyebrow at the man, crossing her arms in confusion.
"you mean the word 'crank'?" he questioned with a small laugh. faye blushes in embarrassment, grabbing the small safe from the laundry basket.
"whatever." she mumbled, playing with the buttons. leon watches her for a moment, watching as the case opened up.
"here." she takes out one of the buttons needed for the armory and hands it to leon. "you'll need this." she smiled, causing leon to look at the girl in astonishment.
"how did you do that so easily?" leon asked with shock written all over his tone.
"i wish i knew." she giggled, causing leon's heart to flutter at the sound. "c'mon, let's go." she pats his shoulder and walks out the door, taking her gun out.
